For those pupils joining us with little English, high quality English as an Additional Language (EAL) lessons will be delivered by our team of experienced and dedicated teachers to ensure that pupils progress quickly and can fully engage with our College community both in and outside the classroom.

The purpose of the EAL program in KS1 to KS3 is to improve pupils’ English proficiency so they can attend mainstream English and hopefully complete First Language English in Year 11.

Our pupils learn how to learn, to accept and overcome challenge in small groups led by dedicated and highly qualified staff.

Some pupils may require IELTS, which is the International English Language Testing System. This is a test of English language proficiency. The test is designed to assess the language ability of non-native speakers of English who intend to study or work where English is the language of communication.

We also offer additional qualifications with the English Speaking Board.
