and went on to teach the subject that has become his lifelong passion – Physics. Matthew has extensive experience of academic and pastoral leadership having been Head of Department and Head of a large and very successful Sixth Form before eventually becoming Headteacher. Prior to leaving Wales to move to Malaysia, Matthew was Head of Learning Services for the entire region. He led the establishment of the first all through school (ages 3-18) and managed over 40 Primary and Secondary schools. Matthew missed interacting with students thus he opted to return to a school based position. As Headmaster of Epsom College in Malaysia, Matthew is committed to ensuring consistently excellent standards both in terms of academic outcomes, pastoral care and wider curriculum provision.

Kate Carden-Brown
Director of Admissions
Kate has over 25 years experience of supporting students with making applications to…
university. Prior to moving to Malaysia to join Epsom, Kate led a large and successful Sixth Form with over 350 students that grew to be the leading state school for Oxbridge success in Wales. She is a strong advocate of building students’ confidence and ability to engage with challenges beyond the classroom and has worked hard to establish a vibrant super curricular programme. Under her leadership her previous school debate team were crowned Welsh Schools Debating Champions and made it to the British finals. At Epsom she has continued this work for example by encouraging and supporting students in setting up and leading debate teams and academic societies that enable them to broaden their knowledge while developing their interpersonal skills.

Jane Rouson
Head of Prep School
Jane is from Sussex in the South of England. After earning a BA in Music…
and Primary Education from King Alfred’s, Winchester (now Winchester University) she started working in a Junior School in her hometown, indeed, the largest Junior School in West Sussex. During her 15 years teaching at this large school, indeed the largest in West Sussex, she taught all of Key Stage 2 but mainly Year 6. As well as teaching, Jane held the positions of Assessment Leader and Head of ‘Learning to Learn’. Further promotions led to her appointment as Deputy Headteacher with responsibility for Teaching and Learning, Assessment, staff Development and Academic Monitoring. She also held many pastoral responsibilities within the school and was a staff governor for 13 years. Jane was also seconded to the local authority to advise on curriculum development, teaching and learning and mathematics in other schools. More recently she has been a teacher and leader at a prestigious international school in Korea where she also holds whole school leadership responsibilities.

Avis Parker
she holds a degree from the University of Swansea, PGCE from the University of Bristol and an MA from the University of Nottingham. She is currently studying for a PhD. She has a wealth of experience successfully teaching History to learners in KS3, KS4 and KS5 and Geography at KS3 in the UK and in Malaysia. On top of this, she has also worked in School Improvement for a large Local Authority in the UK.
Since living in Malaysia, she has become increasingly interested in the impact of effective pastoral care on academic achievement which motivated her to hold a number of leadership roles including the Director of Key Stage 4. Keen to develop her skills further, she studied for a Diploma in ‘Pastoral Care, Guidance and Pupil Support’ part-time at the University of Aberdeen between 2018 and 2020. As an advocate of Carol Dweck’s growth mindset, Parker is a firm believer that intelligence, skills and abilities can be nurtured over time given the right environment. A key component of her teaching philosophy is to promote confidence and develop resilience in learners to effectively navigate the challenges in life to become successful global citizens.

Phil Pedro

Pedro oversees the academic progress of students at Epsom from Key…
Stage 4 to Key Stage 5. He monitors their progress and works closely with Wendy Jones, our Deputy Head, to ensure that any issues are addressed promptly and that these interventions are effective. Mr Pedro is also responsible for the EPQ and leads the work of the Business and Economics Departments. Mr Pedro has extensive experience as an educator having taught MFL and Business in Austria, Japan and in the UK where he obtained his PGCE. During his two Bachelor degrees in French and Spanish universities, Phil specialised in Literature and Linguistics, and Business Management and Accounting. His Master’s degrees in Literature, Languages and Business are from universities in France and Germany. Phil is a keen sportsman and an avid cyclist.

Katherine Fowler
She has been a House Parent at Cranbrook School in the UK and in North London Collegiate School in South Korea and has also been a Head of Year. She believes schools should provide a safe environment for students to fulfill their potential, provide a wide range of opportunities and promote the development of key skills for future success. Kate is a strong advocate for developing wellbeing and leadership opportunities for students. Kate has over 20 years of experience teaching Geography and has also led highly successful Geography Departments both in the UK and internationally. She is passionate about her subject and passes this enthusiasm on to her students. Kate is also a keen sports enthusiast who enjoys running and cycling and has previously coached athletics and hockey.

Andrew Thompson Gilbert
Head of Key Stage 4, History & Politics Teacher
Andrew is an enthusiastic teacher who conveys his love of History and Politics in each lesson…
He is passionate about developing oracy and debating skills, helping students to express themselves orally and in their written work. An experienced head of department who worked for ten years at Watford Grammar School for Girls, Andrew is responsible for academic progress and support at KS4. He also has experience in supporting successful applications of talented students to high achieving universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. Andrew has organised and participated in an extensive range of extra-curricular activities, including trips to Washington D.C, the WW1 battlefields of Belgium and debating competitions in the UK House of Commons. He is a graduate of the University of East Anglia and completed his PGCE at Canterbury Christ Church university. Andrew is a keen follower of current affairs and an avid sportsman, playing football, badminton, golf, cricket and regularly running. He impresses on students the importance of developing their passions and interests outside of academic subjects. Outside of school, Andrew enjoys spending time with his young family and travelling to historical locations. He revels in experiencing different cultures and sampling as many culinary delights as possible.

Michael Stearman
and rugby before moving to teach in Madrid, Spain, where he spent ten years as Head of Physical Education with various leadership responsibilities.
Michael believes a well rounded education is extremely important in a young person’s development. He is keen to create opportunities both inside and outside the classroom and considers every aspect of a student’s experience at school to be vital. Michael’s experience in leadership led him to support students in both an academic and pastoral setting and he is keen to support Epsom’s Key Stage three students in their leadership journey.
As a passionate geographer, Michael adeptly imparts knowledge spanning the physical, environmental, and human aspects of the subject. His pedagogical approach ensures that students glean a comprehensive understanding of the world around them.
Michael’s personal interests span various landscapes as well. An avid runner, football enthusiast and keen hiker, he is keen to explore the beautiful country of Malaysia. His loyalty transcends borders, supporting both Liverpool FC and Atlético de Madrid.

Richard Lord

Richard brings a wealth of experience to Epsom having been Deputy Headteacher responsible for curriculum…
and pastoral areas in high performing schools in the United Kingdom as well as a Head of an international school in Malaysia. Richard holds a Masters degree in Leadership and Management in Education for Learning, and the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers (NPQH). He is a Specialist Leader of Education through the UK National College for Teaching and Leadership and has provided high quality support to teachers and senior leaders across a range of UK schools.
Richard has high expectations of all students and is committed to the highest educational standards. He believes not only in exceptional academic achievement, but also the values necessary for students to develop into responsible young adults that can make a positive contribution to society.
Richard’s enthusiasm for a high quality co-curricular programme in schools is inspired directly by his own broad ranging personal interests. He is a strong advocate of the importance of learning languages and is studying Brazilian Portuguese and Bahasa Melayu. He is also a competent martial artist, having studied several South East Asian martial arts and western combat sports including Pencak Silat, Muay Thai and several forms of Chinese Kung Fu. Richard is also a keen musician; he plays bass guitar and has played in several bands in and around the London area.

Daniel Long
Head of Boarding
Before joining Epsom, Daniel spent 12 years in South Korea, more specifically on Jeju Island teaching at a British International School. Daniel has almost 25 years teaching experience, teaching in a number of different countries with South Korea and UK making up the majority of his experience. Daniel believes that all children have special talents but such talents are not always obvious to the students themselves or to those not involved in education. As an educator he believes in never setting limitations and that hard work and endeavor will always keep one on the path to success.
Originally from Ireland, Daniel completed third level education in the UK, after completing a BSc in Sports Science, he then went on to gain PGCE’s in Sports Science and Physical Education. Some years later he completed a MSc in Performance Coaching at Stirling University. In recent years Daniel continued to develop his professional practice, completing numerous online courses as well as a Boarding School Association (BSA) diploma. Daniel is delighted to be part of the Epsom team and both he and his family are looking forward to a great year.

Jenny Garnett
Carr Housemistress
Jenny is a very experienced and successful educator who has worked in boarding schools before joining us at Epsom. Her philosophy resonates very closely with Epsom’s – she recognises all her students as individuals and values and celebrates this individuality in her lessons. Jenny considers her subjects of English and Dramatic Arts to be a wonderful combination because they allow her to be very creative with her teaching and to use Drama skills to teach the English language. She believes that this enables her students to have fun and learn at the same time. Jenny has an infectious enthusiasm for her subjects and her energy and positivity shine through!
Masako Takamiya
Carr Assistant Housemistress
Mrs Takamiya is our Assistant Housemistress of Rosebery House where she builds very strong and positive relationships with her students. She is also integral to the strong links that we are able to build with our Japanese families in her role as Japanse Liaison Officer. Masako believes strongly in education and the importance of a holistic approach. She is an excellent role model and ambassador for our school in all that she does. Masako is a qualified Yoga instructor and the sessions that she runs are equally popular among our staff and pupils.

Dean Jones
Granville Housemaster
Dean Jones is the Housemaster for Granville House and teaches English as an Additional Language to pupils in Epsom College in Malaysia.
Dean has enjoyed a rich and varied career and has worked in countries globally – notably China and Japan. One of his more prominent roles was deputy managing director for a large German multinational company with a chain of English language teaching schools.
In addition to an honours degree in Applied Physics, Mr Jones has an iPGCE from the University of Nottingham and a master’s degree in education management from the University of Surrey. Formerly an IELTS examiner, Dean was a member of the Chartered Management Institute and chaired English UK South West, a subsidiary of the organisation that is responsible for the accreditation of English as an Additional Language teaching in the United Kingdom.
Mr Jones speaks basic Chinese and enjoys golf and playing the piano.
Dominique Natasha Perrang
Granville Assistant Housemistress
Dominique has over 10 years of teaching experience, seven of which she gained as a HOD for Business studies and phase head in Cape Town, South Africa. Ms Dominique joins Epsom College after spending three years at RISM teaching Business and Economics IGCSE, A-Level and IBDP. In addition, she was the student service coordinator, housemistress and teacher advisor for a very successful Interact Club. Furthermore, she has supported and guided senior school students various competitions such as; Tiger Global Case Competition and enjoys creating opportunities for students to collaborate and develop leadership skills.
Currently, she is pursuing her MEd in Educational Leadership and Management, which is one of her passions as an educator, researcher and lifelong learner. As the dynamics of education practice continuously change and evolve, one aspect remains critical: quality education should be accessible to all.
Matthew Richardson
Propert Housemaster
Matt Richardson is an experienced teacher who joined our Science department at Epsom in 2022. After graduating with an M.Sc, Matt had planned to work in the NHS, but a volunteer opportunity abroad led him to discover that his career lies within Education. Matt has a PGCE in Secondary Science and has taught students from many diverse backgrounds and abilities in the UK, South Korea, Thailand and Cambodia.
Matt strives to create meaningful learning experiences for his pupils that are characterized by enquiry and investigation of the world through questioning, real world examples and practical investigations. He hopes that when his students leave school they are equipped with the necessary skills to understand and apply science in their lives and to fulfill their potential. Outside the classroom, Matt enjoys long distance cycling, martial arts, chess and travelling.

Laurent Larburu
Holman Housemaster
Laurent is passionate about foreign languages and is an avid sportsman. Having graduated with a BA in modern languages, a Masters degree in teaching French as a foreign language and finally an IPGCE, he decided to live out his teaching passion abroad. His experience in Europe, Africa and Asia has enabled him to acquire a vast understanding of the general development of children from diverse backgrounds.
Laurent taught French for the Ministry of National Education in France and for several European educational programs in Europe. In Vietnam, he led an NGO educational program supporting disadvantaged people via the learning of Foreign languages in coordination with the French embassy. He then moved to Russia where he taught French at university and a language school and created a small educational counselling company helping parents to provide a multilingual education to their children. Prior to joining Epsom, Laurent taught French and developed his long-lasting interest in pastoral care in a mixed junior boarding house in an international school in the Swiss Alps. He led the coordination of the DELF (French International exam). Laurent is married and the father of two children. He speaks French, English, Italian, Spanish and Vietnamese. He is also a keen traveller and enjoys team sports such as football and volleyball.
Subash A/L Loganathan

Mr Subash Loganathan is an enthusiastic, positive and approachable member of our staff. He values education and loves to learn – he is an excellent role model in this way. He joined Epsom from INSPIROS International School, where he was the Head of Science Department and supported the work of the Mathematics department. He previously taught at INTI International College (Subang), and has 10 years’ experience of teaching Chemistry Cambridge A-levels, IB Diploma, Pre-University courses and also IGCSE Chemistry. Further to his teaching responsibilities, Subash has acquired great experience in the orchestration of Science Departments and in the formalisation of data setting & assessments. He brings this range of skills to the Science portfolio at Epsom.
Helen Miller

Helen Miller is joining Epsom College Malaysia from Rugby School, Thailand as the Housemistress of Crawford House. She is moving with her family, husband Guthrie and three children aged 14, 12 and 8. With over twenty years experience working in British Independent schools, she has lots of passion and enthusiasm to support students wellbeing as they navigate senior school. In her free time she enjoys all sports, cooking with her family and travelling.

Ellen Crann

Ellen holds a BSc (Hons) in Life Sciences and is passionate about science education and developing young peoples’ interest in STEM. Ellen gained her PGCE from Bristol University and has taught at a number of schools in Gloucestershire in the UK.
Before her teaching career, Ellen lived and worked in Southern Africa as a Safari Field Guide, allowing her to follow her passion for wildlife research and conservation. As well as her teaching experience, Ellen has hands on experience of science research in the natural world and lists some of her favourite experiences as collecting samples from elephants for use in artificial insemination and removing horns from rhinos to reduce poaching.
Ellen is looking forward to the challenge of working at a top international school and using the pastoral skills that she has developed during her teaching career and her role as Pastoral Lead with the English Schools’ Orchestra, in her new position of Assistant Housemistress. Ellen has travelled extensively and often with a focus on the natural world. She enjoys caring for animals, cooking and gardening, and hopes to inspire her students to find a balance between their academic achievements and discovering outside interests that develop, nurture, and support them for their future.

Kate’s teaching philosophy is that of Goethe: ‘if we treat people as they could be, we will help them become what they ought to be’. This is how we nurture ‘individuals who are unafraid to forge their own paths’. This resonates with Epsom’s belief that ‘education is the greatest tool we have to change the world’. Kate believes that academic mastery matters, and it must start with us as teachers. Kate has a First Class BA (Hons) in English and American Literature and Master’s Distinction in Commonwealth and Postcolonial Literatures; her portfolio for her PGCE course graded all twenty of her observed lessons as 1s with ‘outstanding’ subject knowledge. Kate’s students have, unsurprisingly, enjoyed Oxbridge and Ivy League success and her passion and enthusiasm for learning shine through. In addition to her academic work, Kate has worked for many years as an Assistant Housemistress and ensures the highest standards of care for her girls.

Shanthi has worked as an examiner for many years and knows the syllabus that she delivers inside-out, hence she is able to ensure that her students understand the core essentials of the subject. Mark Eyton
Prep School Pastoral and Wellbeing Leader
After studying Psychology & Sports Science at Northumbria University, teaching English as a foreign language in South Korea, and completing his PGCE at the University of Leeds, Mark taught at an outstanding UK school. He became an accomplished subject leader, KS2 teacher and behaviour management specialist. Having extensive experience of teaching KS1 & KS2, Mark rose to the challenge of Head of Year 4, implementing initiatives to facilitate learning and academic progress. As Head of House, he encouraged unity and belonging. Mark is driven by his desire to inspire children to develop their love of learning. A passionate footballer, Mark also had the opportunity to be Head Coach for the Junior, Middle and High School football squads, taking them to many successful national and international football competitions. Out of school, when he is not playing football or playing the drums, you might find Mark on a trail run through the surrounding countryside.

Cindy Chen
Early Education Leader
Cindy is a ‘Third Culture Kid’ who grew up going to international schools. Her teaching career began with drama education, which set a foundation for her philosophy to utilise fun and creative environments for fostering a love of learning. In Taiwan, she created an affordable program for local children to learn English through drama activities and it helped many children rediscover their confidence, especially in performance and public-speaking. After becoming certified to teach in international schools, she relocated to Jeju Island and enjoyed several fulfilling years as a Class Teacher for 4-5 year-old students. Alongside her teaching responsibilities, she also had the opportunity to direct the school musical, reaffirming her love for teaching drama.
In 2019, she completed her Masters in Education and has been continuing to educate herself since. From Early Childhood Pedagogical Listening to Designing Curriculum for a Changing World, she exposes herself to many interesting courses to stay informed and cognitive active. When she is not working on professional skills, you might find her playing music at events or making art for special festivals. Her motto in life and at work is to always inspire yourself before attempting to inspire others.
Matthew Ratcliffe
Year 6 Teacher
Matthew Ratcliffe attained a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Nottingham Trent University, before completing his PGCE. Prior to joining Epsom he taught in highly successful schools in the UK and Spain and has learnt Spanish. Matthew ensures engaging and interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles. Students under his guidance not only understand the subject matter but also develop a curiosity that extends beyond the classroom. Matthew believes in the power of education and brings a dynamic energy to the classroom that captivates young minds and inspires them to love school and want to succeed.
Beyond the classroom, Matthew enjoys many outdoor pursuits, including hiking, rock climbing, running, swimming and scuba diving. He hopes to instill in his students a deep respect for the environment and understand its importance through his teaching.
Ruth Duck
Year 5 Teacher
Ruth joins us from Madrid, Spain where she has experience of teaching the British Curriculum from EYFS to KS2. She studied MA Education at the University of Dundee in the UK. After graduating, she taught in Edinburgh and then moved to Madrid in 2019. Ruth loves to learn new languages and can speak Spanish and French. She is keen to learn Malay while she is in Malaysia. Ruth is a passionate teacher who enjoys bringing creativity into the classroom. She particularly enjoys teaching maths and loves to see when a child has that ‘eureka’ moment in their learning. She is a yoga enthusiast and is qualified to teach children’s yoga. While she was in Spain, Ruth began to climb regularly and is keen to maintain this sport in Kuala Lumpur. She is particularly looking forward to exploring different climbing spots in Malaysia.
Nicola Long
Year 4 Teacher
Prior to joining Epsom, Nicola spent 12 years on the beautiful island of Jeju, where she taught as a Junior Specialist, leading the curriculum for Junior School Dance. She has over 20 years of teaching and coaching experience. Her main philosophy is that students should be provided with a safe and happy environment where they can experience success and progress, in order for them to thrive, flourish and excel both personally and academically.
Nicola went to school in Hampshire and has danced and performed her whole life. She started assisting at her dance school when she was 14 and realised that she had found her vocation. Since then she has always taught or coached in some capacity. She gained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Dance from Winchester University and taught at a well-respected Independent Prep. School in the UK before her first international position in South Korea. Outside of teaching Nicola is interested in health and fitness, reading, films, animals and family. She is excited to be living in Malaysia with her husband and her two teenage sons.
Karen Selva

Mrs Karen Selva joined Epsom as a Prep School class teacher from Cairo English School in Egypt. She has experience in teaching the IB in schools in Qatar and Malaysia, and is in the process of completing her Masters degree. Karen is an active sportswoman, with a keen interest in badminton, bowling, climbing and hiking. Karen is a keen advocate of protecting the planet and educating her students for a more sustainable future.

Alicia van Dijk

Ms Alicia is an experienced and dedicated primary teacher with a passion for fostering the love of learning. Ms Alicia holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology. She also completed a PGCE where she gained a deeper understanding of child development and effective teaching methodologies. Her commitment to lifelong learning led her to pursue additional certifications, ensuring that she creates an inclusive and supportive environment for all her students.
Ms Alicia strives to cultivate a classroom environment that encourages students to freely explore, inquire, and share their thoughts. At the core of her life philosophy are the words of Maya Angelou: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” This profound insight fuels her determination to make a lasting, positive impact on each child who steps into her classroom.
Ms Alicia finds pleasure in immersing herself in nature and maintaining an active lifestyle through activities like running and playing sports such as golf and tennis. Additionally, she takes delight in delving into children’s literature and exploring novel teaching strategies to ensure her lessons remain both innovative and captivating.

Peng Yuanzhen
EMIP Teacher
Mrs Peng is a native Mandarin speaker from Mainland China, who joined Epsom having taught previously in Rafflesia International School. Peng is extremely talented and well qualified and holds a Master’s degree in teaching Chinese as a foreign language from Sun Yat-sen University Guangzhou, China. She enjoys sharing Chinese culture, Zentangle, yoga and reading traditional Chinese medicine books. Mrs Peng leads our highly successful Mandarin Department as well as the Mandarin side of the English Mandarin Immersion Programme in the Prep School.

Rui Jie has over 3 years of experience teaching English and Dramatic Arts and worked previously as Head of Department – a role that included overseeing a range of inter house activities both sporting and cultural. Rui Jie is a lifelong learner and is completing a PhD. He relishes the challenge of meeting learners at their ability level and finding the most suitable learning style for them. He considers his English and Drama experience a wonderful combination that allows him to deliver highly creative learning activities. Fully fluent in English & Mandarin, Rui Jie is integral to our English Mandarin Immersion Programme.
Lim Yong Hui

Mr. Lim has been teaching for more than 10 years in various schools in Malaysia and China since graduating from UWE, UK. Prior to joining Epsom, he was serving as the pioneering teacher of the new Mandarin Department in his previous international school. He holds a Chinese teaching certification-CTCSOL from China’s MOE. He is also a gifted linguist and interpreter fluent in both Mandarin and English. Being passionate in making lessons engaging and interesting for students, he enjoys integrating music and technology into the classroom learning.

Olivia Archibald
Head of Mathematics
Olivia has returned to Epsom College in Malaysia, having taught here during 2018-2020. She left Malaysia to teach at Epsom College in the UK, where she taught Mathematics and Further Mathematics A Level and iGCSE. Olivia was educated in the UK; she has a First Class Honours degree and a PGCE in Mathematics from University College London. Olivia cares deeply not only about the mathematical success of her students, but also their general wellbeing and happiness. To maintain her own wellbeing, Olivia represents a Gaelic football team and an Australian football team in KL. She is a lover of all sports and an advocate in particular for girls’ participation in sports.

Ali Arafath
Mathematics Teacher
Arafath is a Mathematics teacher who is currently teaching IGCSE and A level Mathematics including Further Mathematics. He has always had a love of Mathematics. He began his teaching journey a lot earlier than most, by providing tuition to his peers in years 8 and 9, eventually making his way up to a teaching assistant in his second year at university (in addition to studying to be an aerospace engineer). Ultimately Arafath gained a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering (Hons) and a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Arafath did not set out to be a teacher, but soon realised that this was his vocation. His love for teaching, “a noble profession”, continued to grow as he could see his students growing and learning together. The challenge of problem solving has always been key to his passion for mathematics.
After his M.Sc. he studied for a postgraduate diploma in Education to become a qualified teacher. Prior to joining Epsom, Arafath worked as head of department for both Mathematics and ICT and taught IGCSE and A level Mathematics. Students in his care participated in international competitions where they won many awards and received top IGCSE results. Arafath is a keen sportsman and enjoys participating in many of the sports that Epsom has to offer, particularly badminton, volleyball and cricket.
Shanthi Pillay
Business, Economics & Mathematics Teacher
Shanthi has a proven track record of enabling students to achieve academic success. Her students regularly achieve excellent grades. Shanthi has worked as an examiner for many years and knows the syllabus that she delivers inside-out, hence she is able to ensure that her students understand the core essentials of the subject. Shanthi has led successful departments and been part of the leadership team in previous roles. She believes passionately in ensuring that students feel happy and safe at school, ensuring the highest levels of pastoral care for all our students at Epsom.
Leo Baloyo
Mathematics Teacher
Having graduated from King’s College London with First Class Honours, Leo Baloyo was determined to follow in the footsteps of his father and take up a career in teaching and make a difference to young people’s lives. Leo teaches A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics and enjoys taking his teaching beyond the classroom via Mathematics clubs and enrichment activities that contribute to preparing students for the STEP paper that is required by some of the more elite universities. Leo believes in the power of education and his father, an inspirational and successful teacher is his role model.
Jamie Bevan
Mathematics Teacher
Jamie holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, as well as a master’s degree in Energy and Environmental Engineering. He completed his PGCE in Mathematics at the Institute of Education, University College London.
Jamie strives to relate Maths to the real-world as much as possible. He is currently in the process of completing a course developed by the UN Climate Change Learning Partnership that enables teachers to embed climate change more securely into their teaching. He loves researching the history of Mathematics and asking intriguing questions to start lessons. Outside of Maths Jamie is currently our Duke of Edinburgh Coordinator. He loves cycling, playing the piano, skiing and has a keen interest in all things cryptocurrency.
Miss Louise Van Der Linde
Mathematics Teacher
Miss Louise van der Linde joins Epsom College as a Maths teacher from Framlingham College (Suffolk, UK). Originally inspired by her own Maths teacher, Louise trained in her native South Africa where she gained a Bachelor’s degree in Education. As a believer in lifelong learning, she has recently completed her Masters degree with the University of Northampton (UK). Louise has spent the last 14 years teaching iGCSE Maths, A Level Maths and A Level Further Maths in the UK and brings a wealth of experience with her from Head of Maths to Head of Year and involvement in a boarding house. Louise’s good sense of humour, her love for learning and her desire to support her students help her follow her hero, Nelson Mandela’s, words of “education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.” In her spare time, Louise is teaching herself to quilt, finding relaxation in the geometric symmetry and patterns of each piece she creates.
Simon Rooney
Mathematics Teacher
Julian trained in Sheffield as a mine surveyor but moved to teaching 10 years later with a PGCE from Sheffield in secondary mathematics and has never looked back since. With a wealth of experience in many different settings, having taught in grammar schools and comprehensives, single sex and mixed schools, in mainstream and special schools, in teaching roles as well as advisory roles, the work at Epsom completes the full set of possibilities with the boarding roles. He has taught from Y7 to Y13, teaching GCSE, IGCSE, A level and the International Baccalaureate as well as working as an examiner for Edexcel. Julian comes to us from Egypt and working in Malaysia is a return to a favourite part of the globe as he has previously worked in both Myanmar and Thailand. Outside the classroom, Julian enjoys travel on two wheels, on both mountain and road bicycles as well as on motorcycles. He is looking forward to exploring the locality and more distant parts of the country on a choice of two wheels.
Ferdinand Pailanan
Mathematics Teacher
Ferdinand Pailanan, a licensed secondary-level teacher in the Philippines, holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching, specialising in Mathematics at the University of the Philippines. His teaching journey began with 5 years of instructing Grade 7 Mathematics in the Philippines before transitioning to an International School in Indonesia, where he taught students from Grade 8 to Grade 10, alongside training for prestigious mathematics competitions such as SASMO.
Subsequently, Ferdinand taught in Thailand for 2 years and Malaysia, where he prepared students for IGCSE Examinations. He also gained expertise in different curricula, including IB, teaching MYP and DP Mathematics for Applications and Interpretation. His educational journey extended to Dubai, UAE, where he taught mathematics for a year and continued his role as a mathematics Olympiad competition trainer. Ferdinand’s belief that teaching is a calling, not just a profession, underscores his dedication to his students, alongside his interests in badminton, reading, and watching movies.

Louise Madeley
Head of Science
As The Head of Science Louise coordinates all of the three sciences. She is deeply passionate about science and believes in a culture of ‘no limits and excellence, underpinned by the highest expectations. However, learning should also be an enjoyable journey of discovery where fun plays a key role, after all Science is fun. As The Head of Science, Louise is keen to continue to progress pupils’ academic reasoning in the fashion of hard work and having fun. Part of her vision for science is to keep providing every child with the opportunity to experience more than just science in the classroom. She aspires for them to experience real life science, as we need to ensure that our pupils leave Epsom with the skills to become valuable, well-rounded members of the community. Louise is eager to show our pupils the value of commitment and pride while developing their respect for the opinions, contributions, and beliefs of others. Her ethos is very much one of aspiration with a “Can Do, Will Do” philosophy and a wish to get involved.
Aishah Wilson
Biology Teacher
Aishah is a valued member of our Science team, eager to share her enthusiasm for Biology with the students. Having graduated from the University of Oxford with a first class in her dissertation and achieved exceptional results in the IB Diploma, Aishah also provides support, guidance and super-curricular and enrichment activities to those targeting elite universities as Resident Elite University Tutor. Having volunteered with charities providing educational and engagement services to children with special needs, she proceeded to pursue a career in education, first starting out as an assistant at Marlborough College Malaysia, where she supported students with learning difficulties in Biology and other sciences alongside taking on duties in pastoral care. Having joined the Epsom team, she is determined to ensure her classes are fun, inclusive and of top educational quality to bring out the best in her students.
Mr Matthew Richardson
Biology Teacher
Matt Richardson is an experienced teacher who joined our Science department at Epsom in 2022. After graduating with an M.Sc, Matt had planned to work in the NHS, but a volunteer opportunity abroad led him to discover that his career lies within Education. Matt has a PGCE in Secondary Science and has taught students from many diverse backgrounds and abilities in the UK, South Korea, Thailand and Cambodia.
Matt strives to create meaningful learning experiences for his pupils that are characterized by enquiry and investigation of the world through questioning, real world examples and practical investigations. He hopes that when his students leave school they are equipped with the necessary skills to understand and apply science in their lives and to fulfill their potential. Outside the classroom, Matt enjoys long distance cycling, martial arts, chess and travelling.

Mahesh Warrier
Head of Chemistry
Mahesh Warrier holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Prior to joining Epsom College, he taught IBDP and IGCSE Chemistry in some of the most prestigious international schools in Asia. He has successfully led Science and Chemistry Departments and been a Head of Year for Years 10 and 11. Mahesh believes strongly in facilitating and nurturing the qualities of passion for hard work, resilience and academic honesty in his students. As a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Mahesh ensures up to date knowledge of the latest innovations in the field of Chemistry and he strives to encourage as well as support his students in the achievement of success in international competitions and examinations that fully test their abilities. As Head of Chemistry, Mahesh remains committed to supporting students in learning theoretical, practical and analytical skills as well as the applications of online learning and artificial intelligence in ethical ways to promote students’ own self-development and preparation for higher tertiary education at elite universities.
Mahesh speaks four languages and believes strongly in the need for maintenance of mental endurance and physical fitness by regularly engaging in exercise and sports such as cricket, football and table tennis in addition to chess during after school activities.
Denu Sankey

Denu’s work permeates many areas of our school community. As a Chemistry specialist Denu is integral to the success of our Science department. She has a particular interest in supporting students with additional needs and leads our Learning Support Centre where she enables students to overcome challenges relating to their learning by taking a very individualised approach. Every child will have a bespoke programme to suit their individual needs. As Head of Crawfurd House, Denu supports her girls both academically and pastorally, ensuring the highest standards of care. Prior to joining Epsom, Denu taught in the UK (Coopers’ Company & Coborn School) and at Garden International School (KL) and is heavily involved in charity fundraising events such as the RNLI and Oxfam.
Subash A/L Loganathan
A-Level Chemistry
Subash Loganathan is an enthusiastic, positive and approachable member of our staff. He values education and loves to learn – he is an excellent role model in this way. He joined Epsom from INSPIROS International School, where he was the Head of Science Department and supported the work of the Mathematics department. He previously taught at INTI International College (Subang), and has 10 years’ experience of teaching Chemistry Cambridge A-levels, IB Diploma, Pre-University courses and also IGCSE Chemistry. Further to his teaching responsibilities, Subash has acquired great experience in the orchestration of Science Departments and in the formalisation of data setting & assessments. He brings this range of skills to the Science portfolio at Epsom.

Mohammed Adel Fahmy Mahmoud Elkattan
Head of Physics
Kattan, an accomplished graduate of Ain Shams University in Egypt, holds a bachelor’s degree in science and education, achieved with honors in 2009. With a strong educational foundation instilled by his family, he embarked on his teaching journey, specializing in IGCSE and A-levels. A transformative moment occurred in 2014 when he earned a physics diploma, ranking second, sparking his passion for teaching in countries like Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE.
With 14 years of teaching experience, Kattan excels in IGCSE, A-levels, SAT 2, IB, and AP subjects. He adapted to pandemic challenges by creating a YouTube channel, offering tailored physics tutorials for IGCSE and A-level students. Beyond academics, he enjoys football and chess. As an international educator, Kattan is eager to share his expertise and provide a captivating educational experience. His goal is to nurture students’ growth, enhancing not only their academic skills but also their broader worldview through his theory of knowledge.
Ryan Murphy
Physics Teacher
Ryan Murphy has thirteen years of successful experience in teaching subjects such as Physics, Mathematics and General Science at International Schools in the Middle East and Asia. He specialises in teaching Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5 Physics as this is where his professional interest lies. Ryan graduated from Rhodes University in South Africa in 2005 with a B.SC Honors Degree in Physics and Electronics. He is a passionate teacher and finds it incredibly motivating to see learning taking place and the joy it brings to his students.
He is a firm believer in the power of positive thinking inside and out of the classroom, and that teachers should set high expectations and moral standards for their students and that students need to be diligent in their studies. Ryan also believes in having an open mind and positive attitude. He wants students to think of the classroom as a small community where each individual is encouraged to ask questions and to feel free to share ideas and experiences.

Ms Sharubini Thirupathy is a seasoned educator in the field of Physics with 10 years of experience in the education field. Her passion for pushing the boundaries of knowledge extends to mentoring aspiring physicists. She earned an engineering degree in the Biomedical Engineering Discipline and she specializes in medical equipment. Ms Sharubini is passionate in a teaching philosophy that revolves around fostering critical thinking and scientific curiosity. Outside of the classroom, Ms Sharubini is an ardent fan of baking and a passionate music lover. She also extends her interests in photography. Richard Lord
Head of Computer Science
Richard brings a wealth of experience to Epsom having been Deputy Headteacher responsible for curriculum and pastoral areas in high performing schools in the United Kingdom as well as a Head of an international school in Malaysia. Richard holds a Masters degree in Leadership and Management in Education for Learning, and the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers (NPQH). He is a Specialist Leader of Education through the UK National College for Teaching and Leadership and has provided high quality support to teachers and senior leaders across a range of UK schools.
Richard has high expectations of all students and is committed to the highest educational standards. He believes not only in exceptional academic achievement, but also the values necessary for students to develop into responsible young adults that can make a positive contribution to society.
Richard’s enthusiasm for a high quality co-curricular programme in schools is inspired directly by his own broad ranging personal interests. He is a strong advocate of the importance of learning languages and is studying Brazilian Portuguese and Bahasa Melayu. He is also a competent martial artist, having studied several South East Asian martial arts and western combat sports including Pencak Silat, Muay Thai and several forms of Chinese Kung Fu. Richard is also a keen musician; he plays bass guitar and has played in several bands in and around the London area.

Georgina Prestidge
Head of English
Georgie joins Epsom College in Malaysia from its prestigious sister school in the UK. Having also taught at an international school in Hong Kong in the past, she is delighted to return to Asia and lead the delivery of English, a subject that has the power to cultivate collaboration, critical thinking and creativity, whilst nurturing emotional intelligence and empathy.
Georgie has a BA (Hons) in English Literature from the University of Exeter and attained her PGCE through Canterbury Christ Church University. She has since taught across a diverse range of sectors, gaining experience in teaching towards multiple examination boards at both GCSE and A-level.
Having attended boarding school herself, Georgie knows first-hand the joy of coming of age in an exciting, academically driven learning environment that also encourages the pursuit of passions beyond the classroom. Georgie considers herself to be an all-rounder, staying active through a range of sports, being a regular visitor of galleries and museums, singing in choirs and travelling widely.
Kevin Hill
Head of EAL & English Teacher
Kevin Hill was educated as a child in England. As a B.A. English Literature graduate from Newcastle, he moved to China to experience the wider world and began his teaching career as an early years and adult English educator. Discovering a love for teaching during this time, he remained in China teaching for 8 years on China’s east coast. He then returned to Exeter to gain his PGCE and after continuing his teaching practice in England in Essex and Devon he moved to South Korea.
After 8 years in Korea where he honed his skills in teaching senior school English and developing boarding house experiences, he has moved to Malaysia, his first time to the country, with his wife and two daughters.
His lessons are characteristically creative, fun and memorable. He hopes to continue to inspire all students from beginner to higher level to find a love for English and world literature.
Kate Orpwood
English Teacher
Kate’s teaching philosophy is that of Goethe: ‘if we treat people as they could be, we will help them become what they ought to be’. This is how we nurture ‘individuals who are unafraid to forge their own paths’. This resonates with Epsom’s belief that ‘education is the greatest tool we have to change the world’. Kate believes that academic mastery matters, and it must start with us as teachers. Kate has a First Class BA (Hons) in English and American Literature and Master’s Distinction in Commonwealth and Postcolonial Literatures; her portfolio for her PGCE course graded all twenty of her observed lessons as 1s with ‘outstanding’ subject knowledge. Kate’s students have, unsurprisingly, enjoyed Oxbridge and Ivy League success and her passion and enthusiasm for learning shine through. In addition to her academic work, Kate has worked for many years as an Assistant Housemistress and ensures the highest standards of care for her girls.
Jenny Garnett
English and Drama Teacher
Jenny is a very experienced and successful educator who has worked in boarding schools before joining us at Epsom. Her philosophy resonates very closely with Epsom’s – she recognises all her students as individuals and values and celebrates this individuality in her lessons. Jenny considers her subjects of English and Dramatic Arts to be a wonderful combination because they allow her to be very creative with her teaching and to use Drama skills to teach the English language. She believes that this enables her students to have fun and learn at the same time. Jenny has an infectious enthusiasm for her subjects and her energy and positivity shine through!
Amelia Denton
English Teacher
Amelia joins Epsom College in Malaysia as a teacher of English and EAL. Amelia holds a bachelor’s degree in English and American Literature from Goldsmiths, University of London and earned her PGCE at the University of Exeter. With experience of teaching English Literature and Language at KS3, GCSE and A’ Level, in a range of educational settings, Amelia maintains Keats’ adage that ‘education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.’ Amelia shows particular flare for engaging students in the wonders of poetry and exploring the musicality and rhythms of language.
Ever curious and in search of new challenges, Amelia has enjoyed tutoring in Japan, where she learned to ski, as well as teaching scuba diving through her not-for-profit dive school, based in the beautiful yet unforgiving waters of the UK. Amelia believes passionately in holistic education and encourages her students to seize opportunities, take risks and become deeply curious, lifelong learners.
Nourah Habib
English Teacher
Nourah is from a little town in New Zealand called Waihi. Originally born in the Netherlands, Nourah moved to New Zealand at a very young age and is a Kiwi at heart. Nourah completed all her primary and high school studies in Waihi and went on to gain a Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Otago. Passionate about teaching, Nourah went on to complete her Graduate Diploma in Teaching at the College of Education, University of Otago. Nourah pursued her Postgraduate Diploma in Education and Master of Education at Massey University in Wellington, New Zealand.
Nourah has a wide range of teaching experience with students of various ages and different cultures. Nourah started teaching in New Zealand, before working in Doha, Qatar. Nourah has also taught at international schools in Egypt. With her multicultural background, Nourah has a passion for different cultures and languages. Nourah is fluent in Dutch and speaks basic German and Arabic. She also loves playing piano, guitar and singing.
Dean Jones
EAL Teacher
Dean Jones is the Housemaster for Granville House and teaches English as an Additional Language to pupils in Epsom College in Malaysia.
Dean has enjoyed a rich and varied career and has worked in countries globally – notably China and Japan. One of his more prominent roles was deputy managing director for a large German multinational company with a chain of English language teaching schools.
In addition to an honours degree in Applied Physics, Jones has an iPGCE from the University of Nottingham and a master’s degree in education management from the University of Surrey. Formerly an IELTS examiner, Dean was a member of the Chartered Management Institute and chaired English UK South West, a subsidiary of the organisation that is responsible for the accreditation of English as an Additional Language teaching in the United Kingdom.

Ryan Calder

Ryan worked as a journalist for 7 years before going into teaching. He has worked in education for over a decade. Besides teaching, he has also worked as a musician, and has a fascination with how music and the arts in general can positively impact learning. He’s been married for 16 years and is a father of three, and is pursuing postgraduate studies in Psychology.
Tishalani Puvanasan
EAL Teacher
Ms.Tisha was teaching in a reputable IB school in Kuala Lumpur. Besides educating young learners, she was involved in many other aspects of the teaching industry: designing & tailoring active learning strategies for students as well as developing assessment papers for students. She was also a grade-level team leader who guided and supported other teachers along the way. In addition to extensive exposure to the IB curriculum, she was teaching EAL in Epsom, Prep School. Having extensive exposure to 2 renowned international curricula, she is eager to continue offering quality education experiences to her students. During her service in the Prep School, Ms. Tisha has also supported students with additional needs and developed their literacy confidence. She believes that every student learns differently and as educators, we are responsible to recognize and embrace them.
Bea Puro
EAL Teacher
Bea holds a BA (Hons) in Education with a specialism in Special Educational Needs. Before joining the EAL department, Bea taught students in the Philippines, Japan, Kuwait and Cambodia where she created dynamic and inclusive lessons that fostered curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration. Bea believes that every child brings a unique set of experience, talents and perspectives to the classroom and is therefore a strong advocate that all voices are heard and valued. In her free time, Bea enjoys the peace and quiet found in the great outdoors and has spent many nights camping under the stars around Europe and Asia. She is passionate about interior design and the positive impact it can have on mood and wellbeing.
Anna Macleod
Head of Modern Foreign Languages, French Teacher and University Guidance Counsellor
Anna has a stellar academic record and is extremely well qualified to stretch and challenge the most ambitious linguists as well as to support those students who are experiencing challenges. Fully trilingual in English, French and Spanish, Anna describes herself as an enthusiastic and committed practitioner. She takes pride in crafting high quality learning experiences for the classroom and places high value on encouraging pupils to perceive languages as relevant and enjoyable outside the classroom. She believes strongly in empowering students to set and achieve their own personal goals and builds strong relationships with high expectations and mutual respect as the foundation. Outside of work, Anna enjoys the outdoors and loves to hike in beautiful countryside.

Phil Pedro
French & Spanish Teacher
Pedro oversees the academic progress of students at Epsom from Key Stage 4 to Key Stage 5. He monitors their progress and works closely with Wendy Jones, our Deputy Head, to ensure that any issues are addressed promptly and that these interventions are effective. Pedro is also responsible for the EPQ and leads the work of the Business and Economics Departments. Pedro has extensive experience as an educator having taught MFL and Business in Austria, Japan and in the UK where he obtained his PGCE. During his two Bachelor degrees in French and Spanish universities, Phil specialised in Literature and Linguistics, and Business Management and Accounting. His Master’s degrees in Literature, Languages and Business are from universities in France and Germany. Phil is a keen sportsman and an avid cyclist.
Laurent Larburu
French Teacher
Laurent is passionate about foreign languages and is an avid sportsman. Having graduated with a BA in modern languages, a Masters degree in teaching French as a foreign language and finally an IPGCE, he decided to live out his teaching passion abroad. His experience in Europe, Africa and Asia has enabled him to acquire a vast understanding of the general development of children from diverse backgrounds.
Laurent taught French for the Ministry of National Education in France and for several European educational programs in Europe. In Vietnam, he led an NGO educational program supporting disadvantaged people via the learning of Foreign languages in coordination with the French embassy. He then moved to Russia where he taught French at university and a language school and created a small educational counselling company helping parents to provide a multilingual education to their children. Prior to joining Epsom, Laurent taught French and developed his long-lasting interest in pastoral care in a mixed junior boarding house in an international school in the Swiss Alps. He led the coordination of the DELF (French International exam).Laurent is married and the father of two children. He speaks French, English, Italian, Spanish and Vietnamese. He is also a keen traveller and enjoys team sports such as football and volleyball.
Michelle Brown

Michelle Brown has been a teacher for over twenty years since graduating from the University of Surrey with a BSc in Linguistics and International Relations. She started her teaching career as an Arabic teacher at International Tahfiz & Science Academy. Suhada has an honours degree in Arabic and Islamic Civilization from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Suhada is utterly dedicated to the success of her students and offers individual support to them which is greatly appreciated.
Huzaimi Mubarak bin Ghazali

Huzaimi is a Malay teacher and also teaches Islamic studies for primary up to secondary school in Epsom College in Malaysia. He completed his degree in Islamic Education with multimedia from the International Islamic University Selangor. Creativity, collaboration , critical thinking and problem solving are some of the elements he includes in his lessons. As a teacher, he knows the importance of cultivating a welcoming and inclusive classroom where every child is supported, encouraged, and valued. He strives to establish the best learning environment possible for the children in his care and takes pride in making his classroom a welcoming and exciting learning space. He always has high expectations from his students to get good results in the IGCSE Malay exam. He is happy to join Laliga football as one of the favorites in their life. In his free time, Huzaimi loves to keep active and enjoys jogging and hiking after a busy day at school.
Peng Yuanzhen

Peng is a native Mandarin speaker from Mainland China, who joined Epsom having taught previously in Rafflesia International School. Peng is extremely talented and well qualified and holds a Master’s degree in teaching Chinese as a foreign language from Sun Yat-sen University Guangzhou, China. She enjoys sharing Chinese culture, Zentangle, yoga and reading traditional Chinese medicine books. Peng leads our highly successful Mandarin Department as well as the Mandarin side of the English Mandarin Immersion Programme in the Prep School.
Lim Yong Hui

Lim has been teaching for more than 10 years in various schools in Malaysia and China since graduating from UWE, UK. Prior to joining Epsom, he was serving as the pioneering teacher of the new Mandarin Department in his previous international school. He holds a Chinese teaching certification-CTCSOL from China’s MOE. He is also a gifted linguist and interpreter fluent in both Mandarin and English. Being passionate in making lessons engaging and interesting for students, he enjoys integrating music and technology into the classroom learning.
Soo Chai See

Soo Chai See is joining Epsom College in Malaysia as a Mandarin Teacher. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Mandarin as a Second Language from Shanghai, and this year will be her 8th year in teaching. She has a true passion for working with young learners, and takes great pride in helping each student progress in all areas of their development, both academically and socially. She strives to create a community of learners that nurtures growth in a fun and positive environment. On a personal note, Soo Chai See thoroughly enjoys yoga, swimming and snorkeling which she finds incredibly relaxing.
Ho Liang Hui

Ho Liang Hui is a native Mandarin speaker from Taiwan and brings over 20 years’ teaching experience to her position. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese Study from the International College of Chinese Studies, Shanghai Normal University and a Master’s in Chinese Studies from New Era University College. She also holds a Montessori Certificate in Early Childhood from Segi College. Ho Liang Hui enjoys an infectious enthusiasm for and devotion to teaching and introducing Mandarin to her students – she aspires for them to enjoy the learning process. Beyond her teaching, Ho Liang Hui enjoys watching Traditional Chinese Opera – Xiqu – as well as trying out different baking recipes. She also loves spending time with her dogs during her leisure time.
Zhang Yan (Jenny Hill)

Zhang Yan has teaching experience of over 17 years across nursery to senior school. She’s been teaching in international schools in China and South Korea for over 10 years with primary children from all year groups. She holds a BA in Hebei Normal University. She is qualified in teaching Chinese as a first language in primary school, teaching Chinese as a foreign language and EAL. She’s known as a caring and inspiring teacher to her students. She is bilingual in Mandarin and English. Her hobbies are from hand-sewing, Chinese calligraphy to cycling and gardening. She believes that every student is unique and talented in their own ways. She has her passion to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all her students.

Denu Sankey

Denu’s work permeates many areas of our school community. As a Chemistry specialist Denu is integral to the success of our Science department. She has a particular interest in supporting students with additional needs and leads our Learning Support Centre where she enables students to overcome challenges relating to their learning by taking a very individualised approach. Every child will have a bespoke programme to suit their individual needs. As Head of Crawfurd House, Denu supports her girls both academically and pastorally, ensuring the highest standards of care. Prior to joining Epsom, Denu taught in the UK (Coopers’ Company & Coborn School) and at Garden International School (KL) and is heavily involved in charity fundraising events such as the RNLI and Oxfam.
Tishalani Puvanasan

Ms.Tisha was teaching in a reputable IB school in Kuala Lumpur. Besides educating young learners, she was involved in many other aspects of the teaching industry: designing & tailoring active learning strategies for students as well as developing assessment papers for students. She was also a grade-level team leader who guided and supported other teachers along the way. In addition to extensive exposure to the IB curriculum, she was teaching EAL in Epsom, Prep School. Having extensive exposure to 2 renowned international curricula, she is eager to continue offering quality education experiences to her students. During her service in the Prep School, Ms. Tisha has also supported students with additional needs and developed their literacy confidence. She believes that every student learns differently and as educators, we are responsible to recognize and embrace them.

James Dale has extensive experience as Head of Humanities having worked previously in schools in the UK, Poland and Thailand. At Epsom, James is the Head of Humanities and as such he leads the teaching and learning across the History, Politics and Geography Departments. James has taught History and Politics to A-level for many years in addition to Geography to GCSE level. James enjoys a keen interest in current affairs and he enjoys sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with his students both in and beyond the classroom.
Pajan Kaur
Psychology Teacher
Pajan is our friendly and supportive school counsellor. She works closely with our student body to guide them towards managing their mental wellbeing while nurturing them holistically as they build their personality and identity.
Pajan completed her Masters in Applied Psychology at Middlesex University in the UK and obtained a Master’s degree in Counselling from OUM in Malaysia. She is passionate about counselling and psychology and completed her Bachelor of Psychology in HELP University, Malaysia. As a student she volunteered to support various causes and programs and benefited from the opportunity to interact with people from all walks of life.
Pajan has extensive experience as a counsellor including in a boarding school. At Epsom she works with staff to foster a supportive ethos where students feel safe to discuss their mental wellbeing and to address any anxieties that they may be experiencing. During her free time Pajan loves to spend time with her family, especially her daughters.
Andrew Thompson Gilbert

Andrew is an enthusiastic teacher who conveys his love of History and Politics in each lesson. He is passionate about developing oracy and debating skills, helping students to express themselves orally and in their written work. An experienced head of department who worked for ten years at Watford Grammar School for Girls, Andrew is responsible for academic progress and support at KS4. He also has experience in supporting successful applications of talented students to high achieving universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. Andrew has organised and participated in an extensive range of extra-curricular activities, including trips to Washington D.C, the WW1 battlefields of Belgium and debating competitions in the UK House of Commons. He is a graduate of the University of East Anglia and completed his PGCE at Canterbury Christ Church university.
Andrew is a keen follower of current affairs and an avid sportsman, playing football, badminton, golf, cricket and regularly running. He impresses on students the importance of developing their passions and interests outside of academic subjects. Outside of school, Andrew enjoys spending time with his young family and travelling to historical locations. He revels in experiencing different cultures and sampling as many culinary delights as possible.
Chantal Thompson

Originally from Canada, Chantal completed a Bachelor’s of Arts- History at York University before moving to the United Kingdom to attend Canterbury Christchurch University, where she graduated with a PGCE in Secondary History.
Chantal is an enthusiastic History teacher with extensive experience teaching at a range of schools within the UK. Her teaching practice is rooted in mutual respect and high expectations based on effort, honesty and resilience. Students are at the centre of all she does and she aims to build learners’ confidence, encourage them to take risks and foster a genuine love of learning.
A true history geek, she enjoys visiting historic sites and travelling with her young family. Her particular interests are post-colonial, social and ‘hidden’ histories as well as the Cold War.
Sam Prestidge
Head of Geography
Sam was primarily educated in the UK, where he obtained a first class honours degree from the University of Exeter and a PGDE in Geography. He also holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from the University of Hong Kong. In addition to teaching GCSE and A Level Geography, Sam has also taught A Level Economics and is a great believer in cross curricular collaboration, seeing geography as the connection between natural and social sciences. He therefore strongly believes that a good geographical education enables the lateral thinking required to face global challenges. Field work plays a core role in the learning experience of Sam’s students, developing research skills that prepare them for the rigours of higher education. Sam enjoys all sports, particularly those which involve a racket but has a real passion for cycling and will often be seen on a set of two wheels, be it for the road or trails of Malaysia. Further away from college campus, Sam utilises geographical understanding to seek out the best surf spots in Asia.

Katherine Fowler
Kate has extensive experience working in boarding schools both in the UK and internationally as a pastoral leader. She has been a House Parent at Cranbrook School in the UK and in North London Collegiate School in South Korea and has also been a Head of Year. She believes schools should provide a safe environment for students to fulfill their potential, provide a wide range of opportunities and promote the development of key skills for future success. Kate is a strong advocate for developing wellbeing and leadership opportunities for students. Kate has over 20 years of experience teaching Geography and has also led highly successful Geography Departments both in the UK and internationally. She is passionate about her subject and passes this enthusiasm on to her students. Kate is also a keen sports enthusiast who enjoys running and cycling and has previously coached athletics and hockey.

Avis Parker
History Teacher, Deputy Headteacher, Academic
Although Avis Parker has lived in Malaysia for over 9 years, she holds a degree from the University of Swansea, PGCE from the University of Bristol and an MA from the University of Nottingham. She is currently studying for a PhD. She has a wealth of experience successfully teaching History to learners in KS3, KS4 and KS5 and Geography at KS3 in the UK and in Malaysia. On top of this, she has also worked in School Improvement for a large Local Authority in the UK.
Since living in Malaysia, she has become increasingly interested in the impact of effective pastoral care on academic achievement which motivated her to hold a number of leadership roles including the Director of Key Stage 4. Keen to develop her skills further, she studied for a Diploma in ‘Pastoral Care, Guidance and Pupil Support’ part-time at the University of Aberdeen between 2018 and 2020. As an advocate of Carol Dweck’s growth mindset, Parker is a firm believer that intelligence, skills and abilities can be nurtured over time given the right environment. A key component of her teaching philosophy is to promote confidence and develop resilience in learners to effectively navigate the challenges in life to become successful global citizens.

Phil Pedro
Assistant Headteacher, Senior School Head of Business, Economics Director of Accreditation
Pedro oversees the academic progress of students at Epsom from Key Stage 4 to Key Stage 5. He monitors their progress and works closely with Wendy Jones, our Deputy Head, to ensure that any issues are addressed promptly and that these interventions are effective. Pedro is also responsible for the EPQ and leads the work of the Business and Economics Departments. Pedro has extensive experience as an educator having taught MFL and Business in Austria, Japan and in the UK where he obtained his PGCE. During his two Bachelor degrees in French and Spanish universities, Phil specialised in Literature and Linguistics, and Business Management and Accounting. His Master’s degrees in Literature, Languages and Business are from universities in France and Germany. Phil is a keen sportsman and an avid cyclist
Dominique Natasha Perrang

Dominique has over 10 years of teaching experience, seven of which she gained as a HOD for Business studies and phase head in Cape Town, South Africa. Dominique joins Epsom College after spending three years at RISM teaching Business and Economics IGCSE, A-Level and IBDP. In addition, she was the student service coordinator, housemistress and teacher advisor for a very successful Interact Club. Furthermore, she has supported and guided senior school students various competitions such as; Tiger Global Case Competition and enjoys creating opportunities for students to collaborate and develop leadership skills.
Currently, she is pursuing her MEd in Educational Leadership and Management, which is one of her passions as an educator, researcher and lifelong learner. As the dynamics of education practice continuously change and evolve, one aspect remains critical: quality education should be accessible to all.
In her spare time, Dominique enjoys spending time with her family, keeping up with current events, listening to music and watching rugby.
Dr Suraya Bin Abu Yazid

Dr. Suraya boasts a solid foundation in financial disciplines. She has a Ph.D. in Sociology and Anthropology, a Master’s Degree in Forensic Accounting and Financial Criminology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a Diploma in Accountancy.
Dr. Suraya brings practical insights to the classroom. Her past roles include Sales Auditor for Malaysia Airlines, Billing Accountant for Airod Malaysia, and Financial Advisor for AIA Malaysia. Her certification as an HRD Corp Certified Corporate Trainer underscores her commitment to imparting knowledge effectively.
Beyond her professional journey, Dr. Suraya has notable achievements including speaking at TEDx events and publishing books: “A Cruel Journey To Self-Re-Discovery and Preventing Workplace Homicide”

Russell Crann
Director of Music
Russell Crann first joined Epsom in April 2018 although temporarily returned to the UK during the pandemic. He has a degree in Music from University of Bristol and completed his PGCE at the University of Suffolk. He has Grade VIII on the French Horn, the Piano and the Violin and developed his enthusiasm for music as a young child while a Chorister at St Edmundsbury Cathedral.
He is passionate about promoting music to young people and for the last 10 years he has been the Course Director for the English Schools’ Orchestra, a national orchestra for talented musicians in the UK. During his time at Epsom, Russell has been Musical Director for the production of Our House, and established the regular Open Mic Night series and the popular Night at the Movies concerts.
He loves all types of music and has the strong belief that the key to appreciating music is to understand it; something that he promotes with his students. He is delighted to be back at Epsom and continue the progress that the Music Department made in his first period as Director of Music.

Jenny is a very experienced and successful educator who has worked in boarding schools before joining us at Epsom. Her philosophy resonates very closely with Epsom’s – she recognises all her students as individuals and values and celebrates this individuality in her lessons. Jenny considers her subjects of English and Dramatic Arts to be a wonderful combination because they allow her to be very creative with her teaching and to use Drama skills to teach the English language. She believes that this enables her students to have fun and learn at the same time. Jenny has an infectious enthusiasm for her subjects and her energy and positivity shine through!
Azmi bin Azhar

Before joining Epsom, Azmi was a music teacher in one of the international schools in the heart of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. Azmi has extensive experience as an educator having taught music to various age groups. He also has been performing music in a series of events alongside the National Symphony Orchestra, KLPAC Wind Orchestra and many others. Teaching music has been his passion as he enjoys seeing the growth and progress of his students. Throughout his teaching career, he has been driven to help his students to achieve their very best. He strongly believes that music is the essence that leads to anything that is beautiful and may enhance the social, cultural and spiritual lives of people and serve as a profound medium of personal expression. Azmi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance and a Master’s Degree in Music Education.
Gemma Marsden

Gemma was educated in the UK where she attained a first class honours degree in Textile Design and Design Management at Manchester University (formally known as UMIST) which was followed by a PGCE and Masters in Teaching at the University of Manchester. Gemma is an experienced Art and Design teacher with over 12 years teaching experience both in the UK and International settings. Within her career Gemma has also been part of the Senior Leadership team and has helped implement whole school changes such as High Performance Learning as part the school development plan. Gemma enjoys teaching projects across a range of key stages that develop pupils’ cross curricular links as well as their understanding of wider global issues. Gemma believes that teaching pupils creativity will help enhance pupils’ thinking and problem solving skills making them stand out to any future employer. Gemma enjoys experiencing new cultures as well as sports such as Netball, Running and Climbing.
Richard Lord
Head of Design & Technology
Richard brings a wealth of experience to Epsom having been Deputy Headteacher responsible for curriculum and pastoral areas in high performing schools in the United Kingdom as well as a Head of an international school in Malaysia. Richard holds a Masters degree in Leadership and Management in Education for Learning, and the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers (NPQH). He is a Specialist Leader of Education through the UK National College for Teaching and Leadership and has provided high quality support to teachers and senior leaders across a range of UK schools.
Richard has high expectations of all students and is committed to the highest educational standards. He believes not only in exceptional academic achievement, but also the values necessary for students to develop into responsible young adults that can make a positive contribution to society.
Richard’s enthusiasm for a high quality co-curricular programme in schools is inspired directly by his own broad ranging personal interests. He is a strong advocate of the importance of learning languages and is studying Brazilian Portuguese and Bahasa Melayu. He is also a competent martial artist, having studied several South East Asian martial arts and western combat sports including Pencak Silat, Muay Thai and several forms of Chinese Kung Fu. Richard is also a keen musician; he plays bass guitar and has played in several bands in and around the London area.

Yau Boon Han
Art Teacher
Yau Boon Han is a passionate Digital Artist that loves to explore digital and traditional mediums. He completed his diploma in Multimedia Design at Limkokwing University College(2011), and his bachelor of Digital Media Design at Swinburne University, Melbourne(2012). He is the grand prize winner for Nandos art initiative,2016. Having his solo exhibition in Gallery Prima Kuala Lumpur sponsored by Nandos in the year 2019. In the same year, he was also one of the Visual Art Project 4 finalists (2019), and had a group exhibition at Rumah Tangsi Kuala Lumpur with other finalists. He had experience working under an animation company for one year and working as a freelance digital illustrator for two years before joining the education line. Yau experienced two years of teaching IGCSE art and design before joining Epsom International School.

Brian Thorburn

Brian is an experienced Secondary School Design Technology teacher and has been working in international schools for the last fifteen years. He studied BSc Construction Management at the University of Abertay before completing his Post Graduate Certificate in Secondary Education at Edinburgh University. For the last five years, he has worked at prestigious international schools in Germany, Senegal and Egypt. Prior to this, he taught in Vietnam, Kenya, Kazakhstan, Indonesia and Qatar. Brian believes in bringing inquiry based learning to his lessons, aiming to give all of his students a passion for Design. Brian is very much looking forward to exploring Malaysia with his wife Amelia who is accompanying him. Before moving overseas to teach in 2007 Brian taught Design Technology in Scotland for three years.

Guthrie is from Kent in the South East of England and has twenty years experience of working within the UK Sports Development sector. In previous roles his focus has been on supporting schools, governing bodies of sport and charities to increase participation and improve health and wellbeing outcomes for young people.
He has a passion for all sports but has predominantly played and coached Hockey and Cricket. These days he enjoys playing Golf, fantasy NFL and travelling with his family.

Dien Wooler
PE Coach
Dien works in the PE Department and teaches PE and Swimming across the whole school. He joined Epsom in 2021 after spending 6 years in South Korea as a Head of Department. Dien previously taught in state schools in the UK and, prior to this, had a long career as an officer in the British military. His education includes an MA from the University of Exeter.
Dien is passionate about the benefits of PE and Sports, and feels strongly that there is an activity out there for everyone to shine. He loves all sports but in particular he enjoys Athletics. He competed at a high level for 15 years as a jumper and loves to impart his knowledge and experiences to his students. Dien is a qualified swim and gymnastics coach and takes great delight in seeing students make progress no matter how small.
Dien has a wealth of experience in training, and leading sports teams in overseas sporting competitions such as the FOBISIA Games and World School Games and is looking forward to taking Epsom teams to similar events in Malaysia and further afield.

Helen Miller is joining Epsom College Malaysia from Rugby School, Thailand as the Housemistress of Crawford House. She is moving with her family, husband Guthrie and three children aged 14, 12 and 8. With over twenty years experience working in British Independent schools, she has lots of passion and enthusiasm to support students wellbeing as they navigate senior school. Alongside conventional sports and martial arts, Fidel’s expertise extends to the realm of circus arts. As a circus instructor, he seamlessly blends his martial arts and gymnastics background with the artistry of the circus.
Proficient in English, Mandarin, Bahasa, and Cantonese, Fidel’s linguistic versatility allows for global connections. Fidel believes passionately in the power of education and remains committed to empowering individuals through sports.

Yulia has a First Class Honours Degree in Physical Education from the Russian State University of Physical Education and Sports. Yulia has been involved in sports all her life either participating, coaching or teaching. Tennis is her main sport but enjoys all sports and strongly believes that everyone can find some sort of physical activity to enjoy. Yulia has extensive teaching experience and, prior to joining Epsom, led a busy and very successful PE Department
Yulia is a qualified nutritionist and works with professional athletes to raise their performance and optimise recovery through a scientific approach, proper nutrition and supplementation. Also, she helps adults and children to lose weight, optimise their digestion, and balance out their hormone levels.
Michael Stearman

Michael holds a sports degree from Leeds Carnegie and began his career teaching Physical Education in the north of England in a multicultural school, specialising in football, cricket and rugby before moving to teach in Madrid, Spain, where he spent ten years as Head of Physical Education with various leadership responsibilities.
Michael believes a well rounded education is extremely important in a young person’s development. He is keen to create opportunities both inside and outside the classroom and considers every aspect of a student’s experience at school to be vital. Michael’s experience in leadership led him to support students in both an academic and pastoral setting and he is keen to support Epsom’s Key Stage three students in their leadership journey.
As a passionate geographer, Michael adeptly imparts knowledge spanning the physical, environmental, and human aspects of the subject. His pedagogical approach ensures that students glean a comprehensive understanding of the world around them.

A former state and national tennis player, Coach Troy won a number of local tournaments and was ranked top 20 in Malaysia for 16 & Under. He won twice in a row in the Selangor Tennis Association Milo Monthly Medal Masters and Genting Junior Age Group Competitions Masters in the Boys 16 & Under Singles both years 2015 & 2016. He also represented Malaysia several times and competed with top players in South-East Asia, bagging a few bronze medals for both years in 2016 & 2017 in the team event.
At the age of 17, Coach Troy was making a decision to transition his career from a player to a coach. He helped and guided several social players and a few local competitors in their social and game play performance. Given his knowledge, wisdom and experience throughout 10 years in the sport, he understands the importance of coaching players based on their visions, goals, strengths, and their well-being. He looks forward to continuously lend a helping hand, to provide the experience and prioritizing each player needs.

Kate Carden-Brown

Kate has over 25 years experience of supporting students with making applications to university. Prior to moving to Malaysia to join Epsom, Kate led a large and successful Sixth Form with over 350 students that grew to be the leading state school for Oxbridge success in Wales. She is a strong advocate of building students’ confidence and ability to engage with challenges beyond the classroom and has worked hard to establish a vibrant super curricular programme. Anna Macleod
Head of Modern Foreign Languages, French Teacher and University Guidance Counsellor
Anna has a stellar academic record and is extremely well qualified to stretch and challenge the most ambitious linguists as well as to support those students who are experiencing challenges. Fully trilingual in English, French and Spanish, Anna describes herself as an enthusiastic and committed practitioner. She takes pride in crafting high quality learning experiences for the classroom and places high value on encouraging pupils to perceive languages as relevant and enjoyable outside the classroom. She believes strongly in empowering students to set and achieve their own personal goals and builds strong relationships with high expectations and mutual respect as the foundation. Outside of work, Anna enjoys the outdoors and loves to hike in beautiful countryside.
Phil Pedro
Assistant Headteacher Key Stage 5, Senior School Head of Business, Economics, Director of Accreditation
Pedro oversees the academic progress of students at Epsom from Key Stage 4 to Key Stage 5. He monitors their progress and works closely with Wendy Jones, our Deputy Head, to ensure that any issues are addressed promptly and that these interventions are effective. Pedro is also responsible for the EPQ and leads the work of the Business and Economics Departments. Pedro has extensive experience as an educator having taught MFL and Business in Austria, Japan and in the UK where he obtained his PGCE. During his two Bachelor degrees in French and Spanish universities, Phil specialised in Literature and Linguistics, and Business Management and Accounting. His Master’s degrees in Literature, Languages and Business are from universities in France and Germany. Phil is a keen sportsman and an avid cyclist.

Thanesh completed her Bachelor of Psychology in Child and Family at Universiti Malaysia Sabah. Thanesh has five years experience as an IELTS Test Administrator with IDP Education Malaysia and in a college. She was also a Special Needs teacher before joining the examination. Thanesh joined Epsom in August 2022 as an Examination Officer.

Kate Carden-Brown
Director of Admissions
Kate has over 25 years experience of supporting students with making applications to university. Prior to moving to Malaysia to join Epsom, Kate led a large and successful Sixth Form with over 350 students that grew to be the leading state school for Oxbridge success in Wales. She is a strong advocate of building students’ confidence and ability to engage with challenges beyond the classroom and has worked hard to establish a vibrant super curricular programme. Imelda Bartolome
Registrar
Imelda has about 23 years of experience in the education sector mainly in tertiary education specializing in student services, exams and timetabling, and admissions. She has worked in both local and overseas branch university campuses, namely the International Medical University (IMU) Bukit Jalil, INTI International University Nilai, Heriot-Watt University Malaysia Malaysia (HWUM, Putrajaya) and University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM, Johor Bahru). At the HWUM, she was instrumental in the setting up of its Examination & Timetabling department. At INTI, she successfully led the Student Services department in spite of the challenges faced during the pandemic. Prior to joining Epsom, as a Registrar at MAHSA University, she managed its Admissions and Student Services Department. Imelda holds a Postgraduate Diploma is Human Resource Management and BA (Hons) in Arts (Social Sciences & Humanities) from the National University of Malaysia. She recently completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching & Learning from the Veritas University-College.

Kany holds a Degree in Bachelor of Malay Language and Linguistic (Hons).She has about 8 years working experience in administration under the education sector mainly specialising in student visa processing. She has a good knowledge regarding student visa processing. She likes to listen to music and read books during her free time.

Masako Takamiya
Japanese Liaison Officer
Takamiya is our Assistant Housemistress of Rosebery House where she builds very strong and positive relationships with her students. She is also integral to the strong links that we are able to build with our Japanese families in her role as Japanse Liaison Officer. Masako believes strongly in education and the importance of a holistic approach. She is an excellent role model and ambassador for our school in all that she does. Masako is a qualified Yoga instructor and the sessions that she runs are equally popular among our staff and pupils.

Jenna Choi
Korean Liaison Officer
Jenna studied Hotel Management in Switzerland, and Marketing and International Business at University of Cincinnati, USA. With her own personal experience in a boarding school in the US since she was 14, she is able to understand and relate to our pupils better. Jenna has been with Epsom since 2019 as a parent, and is well aware of the concerns coming from parents as well as our pupils. With her new role as a Korean Liaison, she believes in the importance and looks forward to building strong relationships between pupils, parents, and the school.

Goh Yang Huan
Marketing & Admissions Manager, Chinese Division
Goh holds a Masters in Engineering Management (First Class Honour), Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical), and Diploma of Education (Engineering). He has over 10 years of experience in lecturing on Quantitative and Business Management Subjects at colleges.
To experience a more challenging career, he was involved in the media industry for over 8 years, where he gained his diverse skills and experiences in branding, marketing, copywriting & social media management across multiple industries.
Goh is also the instructor of the Epsom Mandarin Debate Team. He led the team to win the championship in the 2022 Malaysia International School Mandarin Debate Tournament. Epsom is a new challenge that he has recently taken upon, and as a Chinese Liaison Officer, he believes every problem has its solution which comes with patience and sincerity.

Cecilia Yeoh
Chinese Liaison Officer
With a background in hospitality and business management, Cecilia brings a diverse skill set to the table. Her journey includes 3 years of invaluable experience in customer service, refining her ability to address diverse needs effectively. Moreover, her 8-year tenure as a payroll analyst has honed her analytical prowess and attention to detail.
What truly fuels Cecilia’s enthusiasm is the art of communication. She thrives on engaging with individuals and is excited to cultivate robust relationships with students and parents alike. Looking ahead, Cecilia is committed to creating a supportive environment that fosters growth and learning within the community.

Pajan Kaur
Pajan is our friendly and supportive school counsellor. She works closely with our student body to guide them towards managing their mental wellbeing while nurturing them holistically as they build their personality and identity.
Pajan completed her Masters in Applied Psychology at Middlesex University in the UK and obtained a Master’s degree in Counselling from OUM in Malaysia. She is passionate about counselling and psychology and completed her Bachelor of Psychology in HELP University, Malaysia. As a student she volunteered to support various causes and programs and benefited from the opportunity to interact with people from all walks of life.
Pajan has extensive experience as a counsellor including in a boarding school. At Epsom she works with staff to foster a supportive ethos where students feel safe to discuss their mental wellbeing and to address any anxieties that they may be experiencing.
During her free time Pajan loves to spend time with her family, especially her daughters.

Nor Atiqah Abd Rahman
Librarian
Nor Atiqah Abd Rahman is our much loved librarian! Her delightful smile and friendly nature welcome us all to our beautiful library – the heart of our school! Atiqah has completed her Diploma in Information Management and Degree in Information Science & Library Management in Universiti Teknologi Mara. She has extensive experience managing the whole library as she was working for 5 years as a librarian in several local university libraries before joining Epsom in 2014 since the first it’s open.
As a literacy advocate, she’s very much knowledgeable in children’s and teenagers literature. She serves the whole school for now from small kids up to senior students and staff. Her experience as a librarian from several institutions has made her passionate about all sorts of library management. She develops strategies to help struggling readers by preparing varieties books and reading methods either physical or online accessible to students. She works closely with prep and senior school teachers to support the students expectations and needs. She’s also helping senior students find online articles related to their research and coursework.Atiqah believes that even in the digital age, there is no substitute for books. Reading is the only way to gain knowledge and it is the most important part in education.

Nurin Rafissya Binti Rashid

Nurin Rafissya Binti Rashid, a recent graduate of UiTM Rembau, possesses a fervent passion for literature, with a particular fondness for the enchanting world of Harry Potter crafted by J.K. Rowling. Having triumphantly completed both her Form 6 and Degree, she exhibits a deep-seated commitment to education. Notably, her affinity for children is evidenced by her genuine enthusiasm for assisting young readers in discovering their next captivating book.

Over 18 years experience in the healthcare sector with extensive exposure to various disciplines. 15 years working in the Middle East of which 10 years as lead nurse in a first ranked tertiary healthcare organisation in Saudi Arabia. Involved in training programs for new graduate physicians and as quality assurance auditor in promoting safe and high quality of care. Passionate about learning, as there is always something new to explore and excel in. I believe supporting the health and wellbeing of students is important in promoting academic success and fostering a safe and holistic environment.
