Pupils entering Year 10 study ten to twelve IGCSE subjects. Five of these are compulsory; the remainders are optional choices. Pupils may sit additional examinations such as Mandarin or Bahasa Melayu.
Compulsory subjects
ENGLISH
All pupils will study English Language (as a first or second language) and there is an opportunity to study English Literature.
MATHEMATICS
BIOLOGY
CHEMISTRY
PHYSICS
All pupils take Biology, Chemistry and Physics IGCSE. The Science departments regularly review courses to ensure that they are suited to pupils’ abilities and may choose to introduce Dual or Single Science IGCSE for selected pupils.
BAHASA MELAYU
This subject is compulsory for Malaysian pupils.
Optional GCSE Subjects
These subjects will be decided upon at the end of Year 9 following sessions to offer advice and guidance on the best subject choices for your child.
Pupils will need to choose three options from the list below which will lead to the IGCSE Examinations.
