Epsom College in Malaysia’s Students Are Heading to Cambridge, Stanford, LSE, Imperial and Tokyo University.

Epsom College in Malaysia Year 13 pupils have achieved a record number of offers from the best universities in the world. These include Stanford University and UC Berkeley (with a full scholarship) in the USA; Cambridge, Imperial and LSE in the UK, and the University of Tokyo in Japan.  We are immensely proud and continue to support our pupils and parents through their Higher Education journey.

2020 is the first time an Epsom pupil will be represented at Stanford University in California. With an average admission rate of 4%, the university is one of the most selective universities in the world. Students who wish to apply must begin preparing early, ensuring that they have exposed themselves to a range of experiences beyond the classroom, in addition to essays and preparing for the SATs / ACTs which are required for the application process. At Epsom, we create individualised programmes to prepare and support them through this process.

The UK remains our most popular destination for university study and our pupils have secured offers from a range of the top Russell Group universities this year – including Cambridge University. Our pupils also consistently secure offers from London School of Economics, Imperial College, King’s College and University College London year on year.  Economics and Engineering are the most popular subject options, in addition to Law and the Sciences. The continued success of our students being accepted to the most prestigious UK universities is a testament to their love of learning at Epsom College in Malaysia.

This year, we also have a pupil heading to the University of Tokyo. The University is among the highest ranking Higher Education establishments in Asia and competition for places is fierce. There is a rigorous selection process – including essays and an interview with a panel of academics. We are hugely proud and excited that Epsom will be represented in the 2020-2021 cohort.

Our range of super curricular activities, designed to stretch and challenge even the most able beyond the curriculum, is tailored to the individual and our Sixth Form Team work closely with applicants to ensure personalised support throughout the application process. We connect our pupils with a subject specific mentor – someone who is currently studying or who has graduated from the university to which the pupil is applying. This prepares pupils thoroughly for the interview stage and any further admissions tests. We pride ourselves on knowing the pupils in our care and ensure the best possible provision at every stage of the application process.

We are immensely proud of every one of our pupils’ achievements and wish them well as they embark upon the next stage of their educational journey all over the world.
