The Rhythm of Life in Wells

Since opening on 5th January 2026, Wells House has continued to grow in both numbers and strength. We are a warm and vibrant house with its own unique rhythm led by our team of student leaders, Helen Z., Eldar Y., Alex W., Annabelle W., Linda L., Maya K., Zun L., Winnie K., and Berlyn Y.. Just as the heart is responsible for the rhythm of the body, the Wellies bring rhythm to the House which evolves over the course of the week.

The Common Room is definitely the heartbeat of the house, where we all come together and celebrate our individual and joint achievements or just be together as a house. In recent days, this has been filled with the sweet sound of our new piano, courtesy of Zeyu S. and August W..

After a busy school day and after Prep is complete, the House has a slow relaxed rhythm, enabling the girls to relax with their friends before getting ready for bed.

On Friday mornings, there is a steady but energetic rhythm in House as we come together for House Assembly to celebrate the excellence of our students, whether it is for individual sporting achievements (e.g. Mischa C. coming first in the Senior Cross Country, or Stella L. coming first in the Doubles Final at a recent tennis tournament) or examples of demonstrating Wells House Values (e.g. Linda L. and Winnie K. for volunteering to clean the fridge.) The rhythm changes again with Friday evening activities varying from smoothie making to karaoke singing.

Over the weekend, the rhythm changes again depending on the students and the weekend programme. This can vary from swimming to baking, mindful colouring, or house trips. Whatever the activity, there is always a warmth and genuine connection between the girls as they relax and can show their individuality as well as working together as one house.
