Propert House is one of Epsom’s boys’ houses.
Propert House is named after the founder of Epsom College UK, Dr John Propert, and was established in 1883 as one of the College’s original Houses. The House accommodates both day and boarding students in Years 10 through 13.
Mr Chris Waring, Propert Housemaster and PE Teacher at Epsom College Malaysia, brings valuable experience in physical education, boarding and pastoral care. Before joining Epsom, he taught at Sexey’s School and Rossall School, both of which have strong boarding traditions, giving him a sound understanding of how a supportive House environment contributes to students’ personal development and wellbeing. Mr Waring studied at the University of Gloucestershire and completed his PGCE at Bath Spa University. As a PE specialist, he is passionate about encouraging students to lead active, healthy lives while developing confidence, resilience, teamwork and discipline through sport. As Propert Housemaster, he is committed to creating a welcoming and supportive boarding community where students feel valued, develop independence and build a strong sense of belonging. Outside school, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and running.
Mr Azmi joined Epsom in the 2022/23 academic year. With over a decade of teaching experience since 2010, he is committed to inspiring young musicians and fostering a lifelong love of music. He holds a Degree in Music Performance and a Master’s Degree in Music Education, which inform his approach to teaching and developing students’ musical potential. He teaches across KS1 to KS5, working with students from the early years through to A-Level, and supports those preparing for their GCSE and A-Level Music examinations. Passionate about creating enriching learning experiences, Mr Azmi also organises school concerts, giving students opportunities to showcase their talents and develop confidence as performers. He firmly believes that every child has the potential to discover their unique musical voice through creativity, exploration, and performance.
