LIVING

Student Wellbeing

At Epsom College, we believe that students learn best when they feel safe, happy, and supported. Adolescence is a time of change and challenge, where students need care, guidance, and encouragement. Our dedicated team of teachers works hard to create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Mental Health and Wellbeing Support

We take the mental and physical wellbeing of our students seriously, prioritising their happiness, health, and emotional development. At Epsom, we strive to ensure that all students feel cared for, respected, and supported throughout their time with us.

On-Site Counselling Service

We recognise the important role that mental health support plays in a student’s overall wellbeing. To provide this support, Epsom College offers a confidential, free, and accessible counselling service. The College Counsellor, Mrs Pajan Kaur, is available to all students, offering a safe space for reflection, emotional support, and guidance.

Who Can Be Helped?

The College Counsellor can support students with a variety of challenges, including:

  • Stress and anxiety
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Emotional and behavioural issues
  • Anger management
  • Social adjustment, loneliness, and friendship difficulties
  • Depression, suicidal thoughts, and self-harm
  • Eating disorders
  • Emotional aspects of learning and physical disabilities
  • Separation and attachment difficulties
  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress

How to Arrange an Appointment

To make an appointment with Mrs Kaur, students can email counsellor@epsomcollege.edu.my. During the first meeting, students will have the opportunity to discuss how the Counsellor can assist them. All meetings are confidential, except where there is a safeguarding concern, and a member of staff (typically the student’s Housemaster/Housemistress or Head of Prep School) will be informed of the meeting.

We are committed to ensuring that every student at Epsom feels supported and valued, and we are here to help whenever they need us.
