It has been another exciting and successful period for GOLFZON Leadbetter Academy at Epsom College Malaysia, with our players continuing to achieve excellent results in both individual and team events. From strong performances in highly competitive championships to outstanding success at school-level competitions and the hosting of a major junior tournament, our golfers have continued to demonstrate their hard work, dedication and competitive spirit.
One of the standout performances came from Wooso K., who secured an impressive 4th-place finish at the highly competitive RSGC Junior Championship, held at the beautiful Royal Selangor Golf Club. Competing against some of the strongest junior golfers in the region, Wooso K. demonstrated remarkable consistency and resilience throughout the event.
We were also delighted to see Afham O., Danish D. and Adrianna S. dominate their respective categories at MSSNS. Their victories have earned them qualification for the Malaysian State School Championship, where they will proudly represent Negeri Sembilan and Epsom. This achievement is a testament to the commitment they have shown in both training and competition.
A major highlight was the successful hosting of GLE Junior Tour Series 1 at Kota Seriemas Golf & Country Club. The event brought together talented golfers from across Malaysia and the wider region, creating a fantastic competitive environment and showcasing the growth of junior golf. The tournament was a tremendous success and demonstrated the value of providing young golfers with regular opportunities to compete at a high level. The event produced some exceptional performances, most notably from Afham O., who recorded a phenomenal 14-under-par total over three rounds, with scores of 70, 65 and 67. Such a level of scoring is truly outstanding. Danish D. also claimed victory in his category, while James Y. secured an excellent 5th-place finish in his division.
These recent results and events highlight the continued progress of our programme and the dedication of our student-athletes. We are incredibly proud of all our players and the way they represented both themselves and the academy. Following the success of GLE Junior Tour Series 1, we look forward to welcoming another strong field of competitors for GLE Junior Tour Series 2 in July and to continuing to provide opportunities for young golfers to develop, compete and excel.
