Flob: Home

Languages, cultures, beliefs. We live in a community with many differences, but there are more things that make us similar than make us different. Flob was created with that very thought in mind. No matter how different we are, we can always draw on our innate connections to inspire togetherness and harmony.

Myself as the author and Cindy Chen as the illustrator, created a character who addresses authentic facets of life in an international school. Even if someone is different, you don’t understand their language or you have a contrasting culture, you can still treat them with respect and kindness, so you both can grow and flourish.

The newly released 2nd book in the series, ‘Flob: Home’, a sequel to ‘Flob: Lost’, has a theme of finding hidden talents and being resilient, whilst supporting our peers. Although it is aimed at Epsom’s younger learners, there is something we can all learn from Flob’s adventures.

Along with the messages contained within, we hope to inspire others to write, draw and create. So, take a risk, try something new, and embrace every opportunity you have in school, to broaden your horizons and extend your learning journey.

Cindy and I love writing and drawing about the Prep School experience and we would love to share ‘Flob: Home’ with you too. Both books are available on Amazon as a paperback or Kindle download, and some hard copies of our newest book will soon be available in Epsom’s library to read and purchase. All profits will go to support the Langur Project Penang, a foundation which aims to foster human-wildlife coexistence. Just what Flob would want!
