Exploring Life: What’s New in Biology This Term?

This term begins with Year 10 students sitting their end-of-year assessments in Triple, Double and Single Science awards. Year 9 students are preparing to sit their assessments at the end of May, while Years 11, 12, and 13 are in the final stages of preparation for their external examinations.

Year 10 classes have been busy looking over their exam performance and receiving feedback on how to improve their Biology answers to questions. Particular emphasis has been given to answering CORMS questions and graph presentation skills as well as having a firm grasp on the topics covered.

Year 11 have finished the course and are now benefiting from target revision of difficult topics and exam techniques to help them gain top marks.

Year 12 and 13 are in the final days before their exam series start and are revising past papers and asking lots of questions for support.

This term has also seen the introduction of Fast Track Biology where students cover the AS content in one term followed by further study in the summer break so they can join Year 13 A-Level Biology.

A busy term for both teachers and students which for some will be life changing!
