Epsom Game Jam Competition

Epsom was delighted to witness a Student-Led Game Jam, an innovative competition where students were challenged to create original games based on a given theme. The event was organised by Year 12 students Dylan, Khai Z. and Kiriku, who aimed to foster creativity and digital skills through a collaborative and engaging experience.

The organisers hoped the competition would benefit the Epsom community by inspiring fellow students to explore the multifaceted world of game development, incorporating elements such as art, music, storytelling and programming. Their efforts resulted in a highly successful event that captured the imagination of students.

Three exceptional entries were recognised for their creativity and execution:

  • Third Place – Collect the Dice by Joyce S.
Joyce’s game stood out for its vibrant art style and animations. Congratulations, Joyce!
  • Runner-Up – German Roulette by Michiya and Tomoki
This humorous and technically impressive game featured polished models and well-timed sound effects, leaving a memorable impression.
  • Winner – The Hero’s Journey Against Taxes by Nexus, Sean, Yusi and Rayyan
A standout entry featuring engaging dialogue, original music and combat—these elements were all incredible.

The Game Jam was not only an entertaining competition but also a powerful celebration of student initiative, teamwork and digital creativity. Congratulations to all participants for their brilliant contributions; we look forward to many more student-led innovations in the future!
