As we begin the 2026/27 academic year, our direction is centred on a clear ambition: to provide an excellent education in which every student is known as an individual, appropriately challenged and encouraged to participate fully in school life.
Epsom College Malaysia has experienced significant growth in recent years. With that growth comes both opportunity and responsibility. Our priority now is not simply to introduce more programmes or initiatives, but to ensure that the experience we provide is consistently excellent across every aspect of the school. This means maintaining high expectations while strengthening the systems, leadership and individual care that enable every student to thrive.
Academic excellence and student progress will remain at the heart of our work. Our recent A-Level results, the strength of university destinations and the continued growth of our Sixth Form demonstrate what our students can achieve. Our challenge is to build on this success by ensuring consistently high-quality teaching, ambitious expectations and effective support and intervention. The introduction of Phase Leaders in the Senior School will strengthen our ability to understand each student’s academic progress, wellbeing and participation, enabling us to provide support or additional challenges when needed.
However, an excellent education extends well beyond examination results. Wellbeing, pastoral care, boarding, sport, enrichment, leadership and service are fundamental to the development of confident, independent and thoughtful young people. This academic year, we will continue to strengthen these areas so that students have meaningful opportunities to participate, develop new interests, build relationships and contribute to the wider community.
A further priority is consistency, accountability and impact. As Epsom continues to grow, students and families should experience the same high standards across classrooms, boarding houses, pastoral provision and the wider life of the school. We will therefore become increasingly disciplined in asking not simply what we are doing, but what difference it is making. Our approach will be straightforward: Plan. Do. Review. Improve.
The appointment of more than 30 new teachers, alongside new academic and boarding leadership, provides significant additional expertise and capacity. Investing in our people and developing strong leadership at every level will be essential to our continued progress.
Ultimately, our direction will be judged by the daily experience of our students: excellent lessons, high expectations, strong relationships, meaningful opportunities and adults who know them well. Our task this year is to ensure that growth strengthens, rather than dilutes, the individual care and sense of community that define Epsom.
