What to Expect This Term – Sixth Form

As we begin a new academic year, the Sixth Form is already full of energy, enthusiasm, and anticipation. For our Year 12 students, this term marks the start of an exciting new chapter as they embark on their A Level and BTEC studies, adjusting to the demands of fewer subjects studied in greater depth. They will be encouraged to develop independent learning habits and effective study routines that will support them throughout the Sixth Form and beyond. Year 13 students, meanwhile, return with focus and determination as they prepare for their final year, consolidating knowledge while beginning the all-important university and career planning process.

This term will also see students engage with opportunities beyond the classroom. Leadership roles within the Sixth Form, service initiatives, and enrichment activities will provide valuable experiences that encourage personal growth and strengthen our school community. House events, co-curricular activities, and wider school involvement will offer students the chance to balance academic challenge with creativity, teamwork, and fun.

Developing study skills, organisation, and time management will be key themes this term, ensuring all students build strong foundations for success. For Year 13, workshops and fairs will focus on university applications, personal statements, and career planning.

The months ahead promise to be both challenging and rewarding, and we look forward to working in close partnership with families to help each Sixth Former make the most of the opportunities available this term.
