The free boarding taster gives prospective students a glimpse into life at Epsom International School in Malaysia – the sister school of Epsom College, one of the UK’s leading co-educational boarding schools.
Curated by our academic teaching staff and pastoral care team, this complimentary, non-obligatory taster reflects Epsom’s Future Ready curriculum which is designed to build independence, resilience and confidence and to prepare students for higher education and their future careers.
Our Future Ready Curriculum augments 165 years of tradition and academic excellence at Epsom with practical instruction that is culturally, and contextually relevant to a fast-growing and confident Asia. We promote proficiency in English, and Mandarin – the global languages spoken by more than a third of the world’s population. Epsom International School aspires for all our students to achieve conversational Mandarin fluency upon graduation, benchmarked against an internationally recognised HSK certification. Our 80 acre campus in Bandar Enstek provides a safe, immersive environment for our students to discover, explore, and develop their passions both in and out of the classroom. Our established and active Super Curricular programme educates our future leaders to be principled, moral, bright, and conscientious citizens of the world by focusing on a student’s holistic development. The grades obtained by our most recent IGCSE, and A-Level graduates are testament to the success of this Future Ready approach – 73% of our students received A*/A grades, and secured admissions to top global universities such as Stanford, Cambridge, Imperial, and the LSE.
As a complement to our traditional full boarding programme, we have acted on feedback and introduced a Weekday Boarding option which clearly defines the family’s work, school, and home life. Senior School students (Year 7 to Year 13) spend the week at the campus fully immersed and focused on learning and return home for uninterrupted, quality time with family and loved ones at the weekend.
Held throughout the year, the week-long tasters are open to students between the ages of 10 – 17 (Year 6 – 12). Over the week, children will engage in classroom and outdoor-based activities that will incorporate elements of the Future Ready curriculum, including career talks by top university alumni and engagement with the Epsom Higher Education team. A tailored report of your child’s progress over his time at the Taste of Boarding programme will be made available and will help inform adaptability to a boarding education at Epsom.
