As the new Heads of College for this academic year, we have the opportunity to set meaningful goals that will shape our College as a whole. Quoting our Head of School, our vision is to be “Asia’s leading international boarding school”. This year’s prefect team is committed to helping achieve this by setting high standards of leadership, ambition, and integrity.
Towards the end of last academic year, we began transitioning these responsibilities from the previous batch by hosting socials, assisting with Open Days, and leading Speech Day. Working alongside our House Prefects, the Admissions Prefects organised an induction day to ensure new students had time to adjust to a new environment. Meanwhile, the Social Prefects have been planning an ice-breaking social for KS5 students, enabling Year 12’s and Year 13’s to build friendships and foster a sense of community within the Sixth Form. In addition, the Academic Prefects will continue the Society Fair, offering students valuable opportunities to take on leadership roles, develop skills and collaborate beyond the classroom. The Wellbeing Prefects will improve the student council and organise events such as the group therapy sessions by working closely with our school counsellors to support our students. Our International Prefects will host cultural events across the whole school for our students to learn about each other’s backgrounds, merging Asian and western heritage. Besides continuing successful projects from the past such as Epsom Union and Culture Week, our team is committed to bringing new initiatives to our school. These projects will be carried out throughout most of the school year and we hope this brings a positive and lasting impact on all aspects of student life in Epsom.
As we enter a new school year, we hope to work alongside all the staff in Epsom to enhance the learning and boarding experience for students across different year groups. With the new teachers and students settling into our school, we will work our best to carry out beneficial and memorable events for all to enrich the Epsom community.
