Highlights from Mouratoglou Academy Malaysia (MAM)

At Mouratoglou Academy Malaysia (MAM) at Epsom College Malaysia, we are committed to developing confident, resilient student-athletes through structured training, academic balance, and purposeful competition. Over recent months, our players have represented MAM with pride at national and international tournaments, while also benefiting from enriching on-site events that enhance their learning, performance, and overall sporting experience.

Kicking Off the Year: MAM UTR Tournament (17–18 January)

To launch the new term, MAM hosted a UTR Tournament on 17–18 January at our centre. The event provided an ideal platform for players to regain match rhythm, sharpen competitive focus, and begin the year with positive momentum. Hosting on-site competitions reinforces our commitment to regular match play as a key component of long-term athlete development.

National Circuit Success: TennisMalaysia National Circuit Leg 1

MAM players made a strong start to the competitive season at the TennisMalaysia National Circuit Leg 1 in Kuala Lumpur. Competing against older and more experienced opponents, Jacob W., aged just 14, reached the semi-finals of the Men’s Doubles category. Overall, six MAM players participated: Kuangyi X., Kin C., Mei U., Amara Y., Jaehun K., and Jacob W.. Their achievements reflect the confidence, tactical development, and mental resilience developed through consistent training and structured competition at MAM.

International Breakthrough: ITF J30 Singapore

On the international stage, MAM was proudly represented at the ITF J30 Singapore. Ha-An P. delivered an outstanding performance, advancing to the semi-finals of the Singles category and finishing as runner-up in the Doubles event. In addition, Aqil A. and Haqim K. also competed and gave their best efforts. This tournament marked an important milestone in their development, providing valuable international exposure and serving as a key stepping stone towards higher-level junior competition.

Building Competitive Experience: TennisMalaysia Junior Tour Leg 1

Performance Partnership: ASICS Malaysia Shoe Testing Session

MAM recently welcomed ASICS Malaysia to our training centre for an exclusive testing session of the newly released ASICS Solution Speed FF4 tennis shoes. With approximately 30 participants, including Tennis & School student-athletes and coaches, players tested the shoes during live training sessions guided by the Mouratoglou Malaysia coaching team. This collaboration offered valuable insight into performance footwear within a professional training environment.
