Head of Senior School Vision

It has been such a pleasure to begin my tenure as Head of Senior School at Epsom College Malaysia. The warmth of the community has been incredibly moving, and it is clear that community lies at the heart of everything we do.

For students to truly thrive, they must feel known — and Epsom is indeed a place to live, to learn, and to grow.

At the centre of our mission is academic excellence and an unwavering ambition for every student. The range of academic and sporting pathways available at Epsom is unlike anything I have seen anywhere in the world. We offer multiple entry points to suit varying levels of English proficiency, alongside bespoke programmes in Golf, Tennis, and LALIGA Football.

In Key Stage Four, students can blend these specialist sports programmes with IGCSE or BTEC qualifications. In the Sixth Form, students pursue A-Levels or BTECs, and we also offer a Fast Track A-Level programme.

When we say that we aim to nurture talent and ensure every student reaches their full potential, the variety of programmes we offer is a testament to that commitment.

We also recognise that every learner’s journey includes challenges along the way. At Epsom, we provide tailored academic support and interventions to ensure that every student continues to make strong progress and perform at their best.

A holistic education, however, extends far beyond academic outcomes. At Epsom College Malaysia, we educate the whole person. Our broad and balanced curriculum develops essential soft skills — such as diplomacy, emotional intelligence, and citizenship — through a rich co-curricular programme that includes activities like Model United Nations, Coding Club, and Epsom Radio.

We also foster leadership by providing students with opportunities to take on responsibilities across the College — in sports teams, on stage, as subject ambassadors, and through participation in the Student Council.

Students must feel safe, known, and happy to thrive. Our House and Tutor systems ensure that every student is seen, supported, and valued as an individual.

Mr Jonathan Marchant joins Epsom as Head of Senior School with nearly two decades of experience as a teacher and academic leader in the UK and internationally. Mr Marchant brings a wealth of knowledge, insight and vision to our community. Having served as Deputy Head (Academic) at Fettes College in Edinburgh and Head of Sixth Form at Cheltenham Ladies’ College, he has guided countless students towards success at leading universities worldwide. His leadership reflects the spirit of Excellence and Ambition with Purpose, nurturing an environment where every student can thrive both academically and personally.
