Embracing Change: A New Chapter for Crawfurd House

As you all know, Crawfurd House has moved from its familiar location near the Dining Hall and Sports Hall to a brand-new site on the old Granville Green. Our purpose-built boarding house spans four floors, featuring a wonderful open-plan lounge and kitchen. We are truly fortunate to call this beautiful building our new home.
However, I often find myself reflecting on how we respond to change.
Over the past two months, we have experienced a mixture of emotions: uncertainty, excitement, nervousness, happiness, and even feeling a little overwhelmed. These feelings are only natural. Some of the girls had lived in the old Crawfurd building for five years; many of us had spent three years together there, and it was, without doubt, our home. Every time a new term began, there was a buzz of excitement as we gathered in the common room, sharing our hopes for the term ahead.
When planning our move, I wanted to make sure we carried some memories from our old home into our new one. I invited Vino to help capture some special moments through photographs. We are now in the process of designing how we will display the famous wall signatures in our new space. I also preserved the leadership displays, and we will soon create a new Leadership Board — a familiar reminder for returning Old Girls and an inspiration for future generations.
As the weeks go by, the girls will continue to settle into the new building, finding new favourite corners and making new memories. I am truly proud of each and every one of them. They have shown patience, kindness, and enthusiasm — as they always do.
Thank you, Crawfurd girls, for embracing this new chapter with such wonderful spirit.
