Building Momentum: Highlights from May at LALIGA ACADEMY Malaysia

May has been a milestone month for LALIGA ACADEMY Malaysia, marked by strong competition, meaningful connections, and a continued commitment to excellence both on and off the field.
The U17 boys’ team secured an impressive second-place finish at the inaugural JSE International Football Festival, a testament to the quality and progress of our players. Meanwhile, the U14 boys gained valuable experience throughout the tournament, contributing significantly to their development.
The festival brought together 36 football academies from across the region—including Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Japan—with over 800 players and nearly 1,500 family members in attendance. This exposure has significantly boosted our visibility and expanded our football network, opening doors for future participation in both regional leagues and international tournaments in the coming academic year.
On the training front, sessions have continued with the same structure, allowing players to refine their technical-coordinative skills, deepen their tactical-cognitive understanding, and improve their overall physical condition.
Looking ahead, all Epsom families will receive an email next week containing the updated LALIGA ACADEMY Malaysia Booklet for the 2025/2026 season, adapted to the school’s new academic timetable. This revised programme reflects parental feedback—particularly regarding training during exam periods, adjustments to the school bus schedule (day students and prep will now always finish on time to take the bus), and a greater variety of enrolment options, both in terms of training frequency (days per week) and the ability to register also per term.
The new schedule will also enable further enhancements to our players’ fitness development, introducing more targeted strength and conditioning sessions, increased access to individual mentoring, and a more balanced daily structure to help students better integrate their academic and sporting commitments.
It is important to remember that sport plays a vital role in the physical, psychological, and social development of young people, while also helping to establish healthy habits and a positive lifestyle.
Families are encouraged to reach out with any questions or suggestions upon receiving the new booklet, as Epsom remains firmly committed to delivering the highest standard of football development, year after year.
