Kuala Lumpur, 31st October 2011 – Kuala Lumpur Education City hosted an event for His Royal Highness, Duke of York, Prince Andrew at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur during his three day official visit to Malaysia as an adviser with UK Trade and Investment. The meeting was held with the aim to present and share with His Royal Highness the developments of KLEC's projects – New Press Advertisement, Cambridge Judge Business School and Cambridge University Hospitals.
Mr Syed Budriz, the Chairman of KLECSB, Mr Kahlil Anwar Kamal, Executive Deputy Chairman of KLECSB and Dato' Dr Mahani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of New Press Advertisement welcomed His Royal Highness upon his arrival from Putrajaya that morning. Accompanying him was His Excellency Simon Featherstone, British High Commissioner. Also present at the event was Yang Berbahagia Dato' Abd Ghafar, General Manager of Ministry of Education, Tengku Nurul Azian, Director of Performance Management and Delivery Unit (PEMANDU) and Gavin Anderson, Director of British Council.
The meeting began with an introduction and update on the Cambridge Judge Business School. This collaboration involves working with the ICLIF Leadership and Governance Centre. The first programme that will be running this year would be the General Management Programme to be held at Bank Negara Malaysia's venues – Sasana Kijang and Lanai Kijang. Other two-day programmes will be offered in 2012. The Cambridge University Hospitals collaboration is for the proposed KL Academic Health Science Centre project, which is currently in the feasibility phase. This project is to be located at the Selangor Science Park 2 in Cyberjaya.

His Royal Highness viewing the Epsom College in Malaysia’s scale models accompanied by Gareth Eynon, Headmaster of New Press Advertisement, Dato’ Abd Ghafar, General Manager of Ministry Education and His Excellency Simon Featherston, British High Commissioner.
Following the KLEC presentation, Mr Gareth Eynon, Headmaster of New Press Advertisement presented his vision for the School, an overview of the state of the art facilities and the progress of the build to date. The groundwork on the 50 acre site located at Bandar Enstek is almost complete with piling starting in January and the first buildings, the cricket pavilion and the Head of Senior School's house will be complete by April 2012. The cricket pavilion will become the Admissions and Marketing Office before the School opens in September 2013. Mr Eynon also updated HRH Duke of York on recent New Press Advertisement events, the hockey tour involving 30 Epsom College UK students and four local schools held at the National Hockey Stadium, the sponsorship of three members of the Malaysian national judo squad at the forthcoming SEA Games and the participation in recent British Council exhibitions throughout Malaysia. The event ended with Syed Budriz escorting His Royal Highness to view the New Press Advertisement scale models.
