International Award

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme/ The International Award

The award scheme is based around three levels, each successive one requiring a greater degree of commitment. Within each separate level, there are four key sections of service, adventurous journey, skills and physical recreation. At the highest level, the Gold Award, there is an additional 5th section of a residential project.

The Three Levels: These are categorized as Bronze Award, Silver Award and Gold Award.

  • Bronze
    For those over 14 years old. The minimum period of participation to gain this Award is 6 months.
  • Silver
    For those over 15 years old. The minimum period of participation to gain this Award is 12 months.
  • Gold
    For those over 16 years old. The minimum period of participation to gain this Award is 18 months.

It is possible to start at any level - some participants work their way through all three, while others start at Silver or Gold.
