Library

Self-education is a vital ability that empowers a child, and books play an important role in helping pupils build this skill. It is our strong belief that children should have access to books that help them grow academically, as well as ones that bring them on an adventure in a world of words.

"I have lived a thousand lives and I’ve loved a thousand loves. I’ve walked on distant worlds and seen the end of time. Because I read.”
― George R.R. Martin

For us at ECiM, the Library is at the very heart of the Prep School, filled with a broad range of reading materials suitable for pupils aged 2 – 11. Pupils may use the computers available in the Library, which afford them controlled access to the internet for research.

Access to the Library is available every day at lunchtime for Prep School pupils. Sanctioned library lessons and sessions allow children to browse, read and be read to. Older pupils who work as librarians will be given the responsibility of guiding younger library users.

At the Library, pupils will find individual studies and quiet reading spaces that create a welcoming and pleasant environment in which they learn to read, and ultimately, read to learn.
